Oh, remember “Interstellar” and “True Detective” star Matthew McConaughey during last year’s Super Bowl? He made you laugh, and guess what… he’s back for Super Bowl LX! Yes, he’s also playing it for Uber Eats.
It’s not official until it’s really official, but Uber Eats has already announced a slew of official teachers for its Super Bowl LX presentation.
Previously, the Ridesharing Forum team reported about this 2025 appearance in the Super Bowl.
The ad was then titled “Century of Cravings,” which traveled back in time to feature significant moments in history while placing food references into football. For one, there’s the appearance of a “pigskin” to make viewers crave bacon – with a wordplay for actor Kevin Bacon.
Then, there’s McConaughey, Sean Evans of “Hot Ones,” and a certain friend named Bill diving into a plate of buffalo wings, in the hopes of putting a pun on the Buffalo team, meanwhile.
In his spotlight in the ads, McConaughey, dressed as Bears coach Mike Ditka, speaks with player William Perry that he does have to go by “refrigerator.” The advertisement also shows the Hollywood actor as quarterback Peyton Manning, implying how Manning was attempting to sell Omaha steaks using his signature almost-snap term.
This time, he’s seen behind the wheel alongside Bradley Cooper.
ADWEEK – a publication that posts breaking news in media, advertising, and technology – has a correspondent Kathryn Lundstrom who stated, “Matthew McConaughey can’t let it go. The actor, playing a conspiracy-theory-obsessed version of himself, is chasing Bradley Cooper down on his runs, playing out Cooper’s capitulation with a pair of finger puppets, and interrogating the San Francisco 49ers mascot, Sourdough Sam. His obsession? That the game of football is, and always has been, a conspiracy to sell food.”
True enough.
In the first 30-second teaser, McConaughey casually interrupts Cooper, who is simply jogging, before his friend pulls up for some repetitive ambiance.
Also, McConaughey flashes moments reminiscent, yes, reminiscent, of Rust Cohle in "True Detective.”
“You best come clean…” McConaughey presses in the last frames of the 30-second interrogation.
So those are only teasers. Seriously? Yes, so you’d better tune in to the Super Bowl LX sporting event. No resisting.
Uber Eats’ 2026 presentation is their sixth consecutive run for Uber Eats, which has previously featured celebrities like Dana Carvey, Jennifer Aniston, Cardi B, Martha Stewart, David Schwimmer, and so much more. Meanwhile, the second teaser is all about a “Spaceballs” homage.
