Your life’s biggest plot twist: You can now order video games for delivery to your doorstep, not via DoorDash, but through Uber Eats.
Everything gaming is here on Uber Eats!
Sure thing! So that means “GTA” titles or “The Sims” games to your doorstep? Never better!
No need to visit brick-and-mortar stores only to realize that the time you spent in road traffic is more than the time you spend buying them, or those doubtful prices on Steam. RSF isn’t saying buying from Steam isn’t nice.
Uber Eats is a food delivery app, but it has also been a place for beauty products, electronics, pet supplies, and so much more. This time, video games are added to this list and roster.
But, Uber Eats isn’t doing it alone. The food delivery app has partnered with GameStop, a gaming retailer in the USA. Under this partnership, users of Uber Eats can start ordering not only full-scale games, but also consoles, accessories, and other merchandise for on-demand home delivery. Yes, gaming consoles!
The magnificent and ardent Hashim Amin, the head of grocery and retail for Uber in North America, chatted with the RSF team, saying, “Adding GameStop to Uber Eats strengthens our growing gaming and electronics selection, giving customers access to another trusted retailer they can shop with the speed and convenience they know from Uber.”
Are you wondering which games will be covered? Since, retailers have been there, done that, claimed they offer products, only to find out that the catalog is limited.
Well, it’s official. The companies confirmed the catalog covers everything from the latest video game releases and replacement controllers to collectibles, and other items that you also see on GameStop shelves.
Yes, ordering is easy
Ordering these items through Uber Eats is pretty straightforward and, of course, secure! Customers could open or launch the app, go to the Retail or Electronics category, look for GameStop, pick their desired product or item, choose a delivery time, and complete the purchase. Easy-peasy!
“Whether they’re replacing a controller before game night, picking up the latest game release on launch day, or grabbing a last-minute gift, consumers increasingly expect gaming essentials and collectibles to be available on-demand,” Amin further noted.
Note also that the service is available exclusively across the United States only, and Uber Eats has not spoken about whether it will extend internationally.
