Monday has started not so well in the food delivery space. While the launch of Taylor Swift’s newest album was very successful, not every netizen is delighted with it. Moreover, there’s a journalist warning against downloading Uber Eats due to its “notoriety.” Read on for the scoop.
‘The Life of a Showgirl’
Swift’s newest album has dropped! And the fans are nothing but going crazy about this. “The Life of a Showgirl” comprises new songs, such as the title track, alongside "The Fate of Ophelia,” “Elizabeth Taylor,” and "Father Figure.”
There’s also this official music video already posted on “The Fate of Ophelia,” and it’s raking in millinos of views!
In lieu of this new album, Uber Eats has launched its “Orange Era” campaign, designed to pay homage to Swift’s new album with treats, discounts, perks, and more, plus treats for pets, too.
However, not every netizen is delighted with this collaboration, not the album or the app in themselves, but the tie-up.
Over on Facebook, netizen Nisah Clark wrote, “Why is Uber Eats partnered with Taylor swift (emoji) What’s goin on here…”
It did not garner several engagements, but another netizen commented, “Y’all should not be partnering with no skinny bitch. Like what if this mf had a partnership with Indeed…”
Even netizens on X, formerly Twitter, are questioning why there’s a Swift feature on the Uber Eats app.
But, there were others sharing cute and adorable videos of the cat pop-up as part of this partnership. Take a look. As you know, Swift’s voice also sang one of the songs in the movie adaptation of the musical “Cats.”
Not recommending Uber Eats
Why would someone not recommend Uber Eats? Apparently, this is what’s happening currently. Marco Sumayao, a journalist writing for Chowhound, calls Uber Eats “notorious.”
“On that last point, it looks like Uber Eats might be the worst offender. The 2025 Third-Party Delivery Study by customer experience solutions company Intouch Insight shows that the service is worth avoiding when you’re feeling hungry simply because of how slow they are. Compared to DoorDash and Grubhub, Uber Eats had the lowest score in terms of customer satisfaction with speed of service when it comes to restaurant deliveries,” he stated.
Notice the word, “offender,” but why would he tag Uber Eats as that? He is also pointing out that while Uber Eats still is quick, they’re the worst in managing customers’ expectations.
Uber Eats, according to him, clocks in 40 minutes and 20 seconds average delivery time, and could even take longer if the distances are apart.
“Uber Eats also has the largest percentage of deliveries arriving late based on time estimates after orders are placed. Once you lock it in on the app, your food will come in late 45 percent of the time,” Sumayao further pointed out. “If you hate waiting, though, it might be worth your time to install a different food delivery app instead.”
