Yes, if United Airlines has a loyal partner that never leaves it on the side, it has to be Lyft. The two are further strengthening their partnership by launching “dynamic ads.” Here’s the scoop.
‘Dynamic ads’
The advertising and marketing arm of Lyft, Lyft Ads, is expanding its affiliation with United Airlines to introduce and launch dynamic advertisements that campaign to increase the support for Lyft.
United Airlines is one of the flagship airlines of the USA. It flies to over 300 domestic and international destinations across over 60 countries across globally.
Dynamic ads are automated advertisements that change their text, images, or products in real time to match the interests and behavior of each individual viewer. Think of social networking sites, but advertising.
Here’s how Lyft’s dynamic ads with United Airlines work. Passengers who are hailing Lyft in New York City could get a dynamic creative ad on the app, highlighting travel times to New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport, and the Big Apple’s John Fitzgerald Kennedy (JFK) Airport.
These ads have already debuted in the Big Apple, and have been helping identify the time it takes for these to arrive at the airport. They automatically generate ads that are not boring and the same, but based on the user intent signals. They will run until New Year’s Eve this year.
“Users might have the opportunity to experience the new ad format at two points of their journey,” Shane Dwyer, the deputy for advertiser solutions at Lyft, stated, "while they wait to match with a driver and are waiting for their driver to arrive,” adding that this is the latest in the history of loyal partnerships between the two companies.
The ads place two estimated travel times side-by-side – one to each airport – based on the location of the rider at the start of their getaway.
For United Airlines’ advertising officer, Maggie Schmerin, this is an “eye-catching creative” that delivers a timely message to travelers.
In other words, travelers can find it easier to watch less annoying ads, as ads help people form preferences.
Loyalties
Ridesharingforum.com has been in every action during milestones of the loyalty team-ups between Lyft and United Airlines, setting a strong example for other companies to follow.
In an instance, first, there’s paying for your Lyft rides using your United Airlines miles points.
“We’re giving MileagePlus members more ways to use their miles – whether it’s booking a United flight to a dream destination or traveling across town to meet up with friends through Lyft,” stated Jarad Fisher, the president of United MileagePlus, at the time of this partnership. “Many MileagePlus members have already linked their accounts with Lyft, showing strong demand for earning miles and more flexible ways to engage with the MileagePlus program. Together with Lyft, we’re expanding how and where members can use their miles – unlocking simple, flexible ways to redeem them across their daily lives, no matter how far they’re going.”
There had also been several setbacks that the two companies encountered with each other, but that didn’t wobble them to keep thinking of stunts and gimmicks.
Another memorable moment was when the two worked together to connect riders with taxis. Loyalty goes a long way! Do you have a story to pitch? Open your account now on RSF to share your thoughts! ‘Til then, okay!
