Lyft’s Incredible, Fresh Tie-Ups: With Curb To Connect Riders With Taxis, With United Airlines For Miles

Lyft has recently formed new partnerships with the following business partners unveiled: Curb for connecting riders with taxis in a more efficient way, and United Airlines for offering exciting miles. Here’s the story.

Lyft x Curb

Curb considers itself the number one taxi app in the USA, but what really is this platform? Is it not redundant for a ridesharing company like Lyft to partner with a taxi brand?

This taxi platform reimagines urban mobility by prioritizing drivers more than anything else, offering upfront pricing and unparalleled honesty.

Curb connects to more than 100,000 drivers in over 65 cities across the United States, Great Britain, and Canada. It claims it powers millions of rides, as well as billions of dollars in payment processes yearly. Is it big? It is big.

This innovative platform unifies taxis and for-hire cars, serving not just passengers and drivers, but also fleet management parties. It also offers business-to-business services that support transit agencies, healthcare providers, and co-businesses. They also engage in targeted advertising.

So, with those being said, this is the perfect moment and opportunity for Lyft to partner with Curb.

Jeremy Bird, deputy vice-president for driver experiences at Lyft, said, “Our partnership with Curb will create a better experience for Lyft riders – by adding drivers on Curb to the platform, wait times will shrink and riders will get to where they are going faster.”

Through this partnership, riders can get ever more connected with licensed taxi drivers via the Curb Flow platform. This integration will launch in Los Angeles later this month with additional cities to follow. The pilot will be in St. Louis, Missouri. By connecting these two taxi drivers with riders, more trip offers will commence, and riders won’t have to wait longer hours.

“We believe that licensed taxis should be a central part of the modern ride-hailing experience. By adding more partners within the Curb Flow network, including Lyft, we’re creating additional potential for drivers to earn while helping riders access reliable, professional transportation through the apps they already trust,” Curb said about this partnership.

Lyft x United Airlines

Why is this only now, right? None other than United Airlines is the newest partnership of Lyft, too. Passengers using Lyft in the United States would be able to earn airline miles each time they book eligible rides. Just like earning credit card points each time you shop or dine!

Miles would be earned each time a dollar is spent on the type of ride that the passenger selects. In addition, new riders receive 1,000 bonus miles after signing up for Lyft, linking their MileagePlus account, choosing “United MileagePlus” as their rewards partner, and completing two rides within 30 days. Signing up is free.

“This collaboration brings our brand purpose of ‘serve and connect’ to life in a powerful way,” pointed out Lyft’s chief marketing officer, Brian Irving. “A large amount of our customers use Lyft for trips to the airport, so we’re giving riders more value from rides they’re already taking while making their entire travel journey more seamless.”

United Airlines flies to the following destinations: Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., among others. As of this month, the airlines serve 227 domestic destinations and 153 international destinations in 76 countries, including several destinations across Europe.

“This collaboration is the first step toward creating a truly seamless travel experience for our members – from the moment they leave home to when they arrive at their destination,” United Airlines issued their statement. “By integrating Lyft into the MileagePlus ecosystem, we’re giving travelers more ways to earn rewards today and building toward a future where every part of the journey is connected, efficient, and rewarding, enriching the traveler journey.”
