DoorDash Suffers From Another Outage

DoorDash is becoming a victim of outages more frequently lately. Only a few days ago, Downdetector, a website that reports online outages of apps and platforms, confirmed that DoorDash went down.

Last year, a major outage haunted breakfast customers of DoorDash as they found it difficult and close to impossible to order their breakfast meals, forcing them to opt for other alternatives.

Then, last Sunday, Downdetector confirmed another big error on the app, affecting dinner orders. Oh, shoot!

“DoorDash had a rough Sunday night dinner,” the Mashable correspondent wrote.

The food delivery app encountered online issues on Sunday, with consumers unable to check-out their meals and order from the beginning.

"DoorDash has resolved a technical issue that temporarily impacted the ability to place orders on our mobile app. We apologize for the brief disruption and thank everyone for their patience,” DoorDash told the Ridesharing Forum team.

The errors started around 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, and worse, in cities across the USA, with the core outage, like the core of the recent Venezuela earthquake, lasting for approximately two hours, or until 10 p.m.

DoorDash’s support account on X was bombarded with tweets. However, these users were informed that they may also seek help through the official DoorDash app by tapping the “Contact Support” tool to chat with a live human agent, available both on mobile and desktop.

Last week, the outage began at around 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time. At the peak of these incidents, there was reportal a massive 35,000 complaints for DoorDash on the downtime reporting system, with some customers even saying they got locked out from the app, unable to make orders.

“Does anyone know what’s up with this? I’ve updated the app, restarted my iPhone, and even tried logging out and logging back in. Same error message popping up. I just ordered DoorDash twice yesterday without an issue! Please any suggestions because I’ll die at work today if I can’t DoorDash my food and energy drinks lol (emoji),” stated a customer that time on Reddit.

During last year’s outage, the error affected breakfast orders on DoorDash as it started around 9 a.m. as well.

British newspaper The Sun reported that customers tried to place orders, encountering errors and stalls, while receiving messages such as “unable to load information,” “incomplete operation,” and “try again at another time.”

"We’re actively issuing refunds to all customers who were charged for undelivered orders and to merchants who prepared orders that were not completed,” was the formal apology of the food delivery app.

For last Sunday’s DoorDash outage, the consumers headed to social networking sites to vent their anger, while others had no other option, but to instead wait while watching their favorite series on Disney+ and Netflix. Or, the “Superman” movie from last year.
