The early morning outage was the reason why breakfast orders on DoorDash got stalled across the country, leaving thousands of users and Dashers asking why, when the app has perfectly served them consistently since the start.
Sometime this week, users of the app woke up frustrated when they found out the platform isn’t the way they wanted it to be. The DoorDash drivers and customers are logged out of the app, and there seems to be no motorcycles, perhaps cars, plying the road. DownDetector reported the incident as well.
Those who wanted to get their cravings during the morning of that day found it difficult, especially when systems are not in their favor.
British newspaper The Sun kept on saying the customers tried to place orders, encountering errors plus stalls, while receiving messages like unable to load information, incomplete operations, plus try again at another time.
The app has already issued their formal apology on the matter, relaying to the general public, "We’re actively issuing refunds to all customers who were charged for undelivered orders and to merchants who prepared orders that were not completed.”
Drivers and DoorDash users frustrated over this problem aired their grievances over on social networking platforms.
A Dasher vented out, “Hey DoorDash, fix your app. I am trying to early morning grind, and the app is down.”
You often hear your moms tell you, “Eat breakfast like a king,” and indeed, breakfast is among the most important meals of the day. So, it really is a frustrating incident.
“Hopefully, it will be up soon. Don’t really want to waste my entire day,” another Dasher felt hopeful, but still annoyed.
Then, there’s this driver who suggested it would be better to wait for at least a few hours, and once the platform was up and running, deliveries could start again, maybe.
“With this kind of outrage, you are setting yourself up for a ton of headaches and frustration if you try to Dash right away,” those Dashers indicated.
Others jokingly interpreted the situation to their own comfort.
"Plus most customers gonna be super antsy and cheap cause they are pissed at DoorDash…” they pinpointed.
There are also assumptions the issues came from a countrywide outage, with the platform saying as well their engineers and technicians are looking into getting the site and app back over the Internet.
Good news already, customers who attempted to purchase and restaurants that tried preparing orders for the affected drivers, plus users, will be compensated in one way or another.
