What’s The Concern Of Grubhub Upon Dine-In? And Within New York City!

Oh, babe, you know Grubhub as an online food delivery app that brings you your cravings whenever you order them from this app. Easy-peasy, no more beating road traffic, and traveling to your favorite restaurant. If you want that gourmet burger on your house’s table, voila!

However, it is interesting tonight that Grubhub is exploring upon their very own rewards program that centers upon dine-in, or when a customer dines out.

Yes, they’re joining the bandwagon of rewards program, like that of popular resorts and casinos, but like making their consumers dance a difficult choreography.

This Thursday, or tomorrow, Grubhub is launching The Drop, a week-by-week, or weekly program that will offer users some Grubhub credit when they dine at a rotating cast of restaurants. Like online campaigns!

This is reportedly the first move of Grubhub towards in-person dining, following the similar initiatives of rivals and competitors DoorDash and Uber Eats to capture more customers day-by-day.

The covered cities are New York City and Chicago.

Here’s how it will work.

On Thursdays, Grubhub customers will get the chance to get up to three “personalized offers” from nearby restaurants to them within the Grubhub official app. They could claim one, dine at the restaurant to redeem the reward, and then, get the Grubhub credit. That easy.

The requirement: they must pay the bill with a card linked to their Grubhub account, and this is where business goes.

For instance, this promo may offer a $5 coupon for $20 purchase at a restaurant. Once you’ve claimed it and did the pre-requisite, the $5 reward will go to your Grubhub account for use upon future orders.

Other than that, Grubhub did not close any information to ridesharing media, but they made it certain it will be spectacular.

The first round of participating restaurants on the rotating carousel include Tacombi, Juice Generation, Chopt Creative Salad Co., DIG, Dos Toros, Momoya, 7th Street Burger, and Pokeworks. Sure, they are not famous dine-in restaurants, but the food is great.

The Drop rewards program by Grubhub is designed to strengthen the food delivery app’s offers for customers, and assist in helping to drive repeat orders for restaurants both delivery and dine-in, or traditional.

It also builds on Grubhub’s acquisition of Claim, a restaurant rewards app specializing in cash-back rewards. It’s the first time Grubhub will use Claim’s tech in a consumer-facing product.

Grubhub is an Internet food ordering and delivery platform that connects users with restaurants. Via its app or website, customers browse menus and place orders. The restaurant prepares the food, and independent drivers pick it up and deliver the meals directly to the customer’s doorstep.

Let’s return to where it all started: dine-in! Then, dine-in, then dine-in, then dine-in. This week’s launch will be upon a limited basis. As for Grubhub’s concern on dine-in, it’s up to you to share your thoughts!
