Uber Rolls Out More Updates To Help You Keep Safe In Your Holiday Tours

It’s incredible to travel all year round, but it’s more incredible when you do it during the season of Christmas.

Things get exciting when you travel during the holiday season – money flows all over, then of course the joy of snow in some parts of the world, and celebrating Christmas in your dream destination.

However, holiday season travel is also about the crowds, and you’ll never know where this blunder could take you. So, Uber is here to make your holiday tours even safer and more worthwhile, from Uber kiosks to easier tipping. Here’s the scoop.

Uber’s newsroom official says, “Thanksgiving was busy. But the holidays aren’t over yet! With many people travelling to see loved ones before the year wraps up, we want to make every part of the journey as seamless as possible. That’s why we’re rolling out even more updates to help keep your holiday travel running smoothly.”

First, there are Uber kiosks to assist you in your ridesharing bookings. If your phone lags because of lack of memory due to several images you took during your trip, there’s Uber kiosk to help you.

“Uber kiosk… a new, phone-free way to book an Uber, perfect for international visitors arriving without a local data plan. Uber kiosk gives travelers a simple way to request a ride – even if they don’t have the Uber app,” explains Uber.

Just like those kiosks in your hometown, you simply need to walk up to the kiosk that acts like the Uber app. Select your destination and select the ride type. The kiosk then prints a paper receipt with all your trip details, making the entire experience as straightforward as possible.

Uber is global, so you can’t expect this kiosk to be available in every Uber location. The first Uber kiosk will be debuting in New York, with more rollouts planned for hotels, ports, and international airports in the next months.

Aside from the Uber kiosk, there’s also Uber Shuttle coming to you in Newark.

Uber starts by saying, “Since rolling out successful shuttle offerings at JFK and LGA Airports, riders often asked us the same question: ‘When can we take the shuttle from Newark!?’. Today, the wait is over.”

True. Uber is launching this new offering in the Newark Liberty International Airport. Meaning to say, every New York airport will be served by Uber Shuttle. Security, of course, is in its very best.

Uber Shuttle is bound to operate on two fixed routes to and from the West Village and 42nd Street. Pick-up and drop-off points are along the way. Plus, to celebrate this launch, all fares to and from Newark are under $15 for a limited time only.

Previously, Ridesharing Forum reported about the tipping culture gone wrong. But not with Uber.

“‘Tis the season of giving. We’re rolling out a Live Activities update for iOS users that will let them thank their driver with a tip right from the lock screen before the trip ends – instead of waiting until after,” Uber adds. “With tipping now just a tap away, more riders can show appreciation in the moment – early pilots showing that this simple change has increased tips for drivers.”
