Uber Eats To The Rescue For Your Last-Minute Turkey Shopping This Thanksgiving!

It’s incredible to think about all the food that will be served this Thanksgiving celebrations and Christmas Eve, but, at the same time, you’ve got the dreadful traffic outside nearby your go-to grocery store. You might spend several minutes traveling to the store, and countless hours shopping with the crowds, not to mention the very long queues.

Here’s Uber Eats to the rescue. The food delivery app is taking the stress away from your last-minute grocery orders, and even shopping for gifts this Christmas? That’s right.

The app has recently unveiled a set of new features, including being able to add items or edit quantities at any given point in time before the delivery arrives. Plus, there’s also this feature that would allow you to specify exactly the items you need replaced.

The live order editing feature allows you to change items or quantities, provided that you haven’t yet added the items to your cart. Meaning to say, there’s no need to cancel or start a new order if ever you change your mind while shopping.

It doesn’t end there. Uber Eats is also positioning itself as the go-to app for shopping for gifts, with the new Gifting Hub feature. They are in high hopes that this hub, partnered with various firms, would be your one-stop shop for last-minute gifts, may they be cards, candles, perfumes, prosecco, or AirPods. That way you could think thoroughly on the perfect choice of a gift to give to your loved ones.

However, that’s not all – Uber Eats is also aiming to position itself as a shopping destination, with a new Gifting Hub offering users a range of last-minute gift options.

Furthermore, in-store staff are also working alongside you as they collect items for multiple orders at once using a new batch picking tool. This means they could organize the batch picking by each section of the store, making the packaging process more efficient. Santa Claus’ reindeer would be envious.

Katie Hunter of Uber Eats United Kingdom’s general manager of grocery and retail stated, “Christmas is a magical time, but it can also be incredibly hectic. Whether you’re cooking for ten, dashing to a party, or buying the perfect gifts, Uber Eats is helping customers get what they need, when and where they need it. We’re also committed to helping our retail partners grow during this critical period, with the tools, insights, and tech to help them stay competitive and deliver a seamless on-demand experience.”

Uber Eats connects customers to nearby restaurants via its easy-to-use app. You could browse menus, place orders, and track delivery in real time. Restaurants and stores prepare the food and orders while independent couriers pick it up and deliver it to the customer’s location, subject to delivery and service fees.
