Uber Eats For Teens, Launched! + Uber Eats Australia Poised To Generate New $45 Million Revenue

Exciting things are about to happen in Uber Eats Australia. Previously, Ridesharing Forum shared the story of ridesharing for teens, so they stay safer while on the road. Recently, Uber Eats has also joined the bandwagon by introducing special features of the platform, exclusively for teens.

But, it’s less about safety – for what’s safety when it’s about ordering your cravings – rather, having these teens enjoy their food more. Here’s the scoop.

Uber Eats for Teens

Uber Eats for Teens actually apparently works the other way around. Instead of parents ordering their food just like when booking their ridesharing trip – for why? – this new feature will allow teens to order their own food ahead of the school holidays.

Some parents disallow their kids to use mobile phones and apps, but with Uber Eats for Teens, kids ages 13 to 17 years old can order their food their way, yes, like that Burger King tagline, whether it’s an after-school snack or a cheeky dessert.

“We’re proud to launch Eats for Teens in Australia after the Uber for Teens launch earlier last year. Being the first in APAC, we are confident the teens’ account feature will offer a convenient solution to busy Aussie family life,” Uber Eats’ Ed Kitchen stated.

Kitchen added how tricky it can be to balance the competing academic priorities and schedules of these kids, especially for teens who always find themselves constantly on the go. So, whether they need an emergency after-school snack following several hours in school, something to chew on during the weekends, or something to treat their family with, Uber Eats for Teens ensures teens are well-fed and refueled with their cravings.

“The juggle is real,” said Kitchen. “[Uber Eats for Teens] empowers them to feel more in control of their lives.”

$45 million target revenue

That initiative can help Uber Eats Australia generate revenue. The platform in the region is now on a roll, especially with the plan to generate a whopping $45 million in revenue in the near future.

This is part of the app’s efforts to expand into 67 new regional locations throughout 2025, bringing its services to more than 100 regional towns across the Asia-Pacific country.

By utilizing the best of its technologies, Uber Eats Australia can empower residents and business owners nationwide even more, making it easier for locals and visitors to access meals, groceries, pet supplies, and more with just a tap.

Internal Uber Eats findings recently revealed that these new locations are projected to generate almost $45 million in additional revenue, plus $19 million more to Australia’s GDP, which will drive job creation and bolster supply chains.

These efforts will also reverberate among consumers and delivery partners. Consumers will benefit from the increasing choices and convenience offered by the platform, while over 2,500 new delivery partners across those regional towns will earn via Uber Eats.

Kitchen stated how this will generate tens of millions of dollars in brand-new revenue for small businesses, bringing more choices and convenience for several Australians and tourists who call these communities their home.

He added, “This is a game-changing year for Uber Eats and regional Australia.”
