Uber Eats Down Today, Friday Before Lunch

Good thing that it happened before lunchtime, but Ridesharing Forum heard the issues are somewhat still persisting?

Uber Eats reported it is down just before lunchtime today, according to leading real-time outage reporting website, Downdetector.

So, when Downdetector says a website is down, it’s most probably official. On Friday morning, issues started popping up on the reporting website, showing over a whopping 100 reports just after 11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

Uber Eats has quite a huge market, despite being second only to DoorDash when it comes to food deliveries.

According to Statista, as of March 2024, Uber Eats controlled around 23 percent of the market in the USA. It also has over 100 million users globally.

The biggest problems were the app itself, where over 80 percent of these issues were reported about. Around five percent of users cannot open the website itself, while the rest can open the site, but couldn’t log in.

As of this time of research and sourcing, the issues still persist for some, and there isn’t a timetable for when these will be resolved, but Ridesharing Forum is hoping this gets resolved completely.

So, what can users do if apps like Uber Eats are down? Here are some pointers:

  • First things first, do not panic. Downdetector is a recommended site to check to see if it’s only you, and the world is experiencing this downtime.
  • If you’re doubting about the information that Downdetector is giving, then what you can do is to troubleshoot yourself. Restart the app, check your connection, or restart your gadget altogether. There are even times when Downdetector reports there is a downtime, but it is working for you if you check.
  • Next, do a deep troubleshoot. If restarting the app and your device doesn’t work, then update the app, clear the cache, and reinstall.

But, for Uber Eats, it is reported on mainstream ridesharing media, so the best thing to do is wait. Consumers have got DoorDash anyway to serve as their back-up. For more delivery news, keep it locked right here on Ridesharing Forum!
