There’s a new feature out there on Uber Eats Australia and that’s “Dine Out.” This allows Uber Eats fans in the Land Down Under to get access to discounted in-restaurant dining at various venues in beautiful Sydney via the Uber Eats app.
Wait, what? Uber Eats, but in-restaurant dining? Here’s the scoop.
One-night (dining) only
To celebrate the launch of the new feature that’s “Dine Out,” Uber Eats Australia will be hosting a one-night dining event, “House of Eats,” this August 8th in pretty Darlinghurst.
Darlinghurst is an inner-city destination in Australia known for its funky, high-energy vibe with coffee shops, sleek multicultural restaurants, and intimate cocktail bars lining the area. There are also nightclubs and stylishly restored pubs.
Meanwhile, over along Darlinghurst’s Crown Street, there are records, offbeat fashion, and vintage apparel being sold. Plus, art galleries, independent theatre companies, and live music venues also thrive around, drawing in a young, chic crowd.
Discover Darlinghurst’s eclectic charm with a visit to Oxford Street’s nightlife, Darlinghurst Gaol’s history, indie art galleries, stylish cafes on Victoria Street, and hidden cocktail bars like Shady Pines Saloon.
For an Uber Eats gastronomic affair to happen here, sounds exciting, isn’t it?
But wait, there’s more
Not just those, but this one-night-only pop-up dinner will likewise feature a four-course menu prepared by Chef Danielle Alvarez – no, not the Colombian beauty queen – and include dishes from various partner Sydney restaurants, such as Catalina, Fabbrica, and Mary’s.
Some of the dishes you could try will be:
- Caviar-topped version of Mary’s fried chicken
- Updated cacio e pepe with bottarge from Fabbrica (Spaghetti with black pepper and Pecorino Romano)
- Catalina’s take on fish and chips
- Alvarez’s take on the Aussie pavlova with sorrel sorbet, rhubarb, and yoghurt mousse
- Drinks from the local wine shop and nearby bar
Spoiler? The desserts are “green,” “and it’s all green,” as the song from the “Wicked” movie would say.
Back to the topic, admission is free, but the seats would be limited, so if you’re running in late, expect those seats to be filled in. The secret is to come in early.
Ticket pairs will be available from 9 a.m. local time this July 29th. Ask the organizers how to purchase tickets.
An Uber director of communications, Peta Fitzgerald, told Ridesharing Forum, “Uber Eats is famous for bringing local restaurant food into Aussie homes, and now we’re flipping that script with the launch of Dine Out to help drive more diners through the doors of the restaurants they love. Sydney has some of the best dining in the worl,d so we’re incredibly privileged to launch the pilot Down Under with the help of Danielle Alvarez and our talented restaurant partners. House of Eats is all about shining a light on Sydney’s incredible food culture.”
