There’s Uber Helicopter, There’s Uber Flying Taxi, Then There’s… Uber Balloon

Can’t believe? Then, read on! Have parties around Uber gone too much when they thought of, are you ready for this? – Uber Balloons! Similar to how the idea of robotaxis is going overboard, since they are taking the jobs of human drivers, these balloons are getting against the very idea of ridesharing, taking you from one point to another. The Ridesharing Forum team has tried hot-air balloons, and they just hover you in the air. Here’s the scoop.

In a previous report on this website, Uber has started offering ridesharing rides through helicopters and luxury cruises across the Amalfi Coast, one of the most beautiful places in Italy and around the world. Tourists and passengers can book private and round-trip getaways to Capri with this. Luxury, comfortable, and perhaps cushioned rides, Uber copters got you!

Also, there are plans to launch Uber helicopters in Las Vegas, too. And, come Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, Uber is rumored to be launching flying taxis ridesharing-style.

University of Oklahoma aviation professor Ken Carson shared insights with Ridesharing Forum, saying, “The LA Olympics coming up in 2028 are looking at highlighting these advanced air mobility vehicles during that stage.”

How about hot-air balloons, Uber-style?

Uber’s official newsroom pointed out, “Tap a button, take to the skies with our latest travel product – bucket-list worthy hot air balloon rides in Cappadocia, Türkiye. Starting this week, Uber Balloon will be available in the UNESCO World Heritage Göreme National Park, and riders can book directly in the app via Uber Reserve.”

Book, ride, and pay. Sightsee, of course. According to Uber, it will be a sunrise hot-air balloon trip that will depart from Göreme, Cappadocia, Türkiye, taking tourists on a flight that will take an hour and a half through the Park, which is known for “ethereal fairy chimneys” and magnificent architecture carved into the limestone. Choose your side. Travers can see the stunning dawn views from 3,000 feet in the air. How about that?

Türkiye is among the most beautiful destinations everywhere. Everything here is gorgeous. Lonely Planet describes the Middle Eastern country this way: “A richly historical land with some of the best cuisine you will ever taste, scenery from beaches to mountains and the great city of İstanbul.”

Uber further stated that this extraordinary getaway includes door-to-door rides from your hotel lobby to the skies. The extravagant launch is underway.

Well, note that this is a sunrise tour under a hot-air balloon, and if there’s a selling point that Uber must focus on, it’s the convenience of not falling in line for this in-demand sunrise tour only to find out that the slots have already run out.
