Travel + Leisure recently unveiled Uber launching its Uber Boat, which will travel across key destinations in Europe.
And, Uber is seconding that motion. Previously, Uber launched its Uber helicopters, flying taxis, and hot-air balloons, and this time it is introducing Uber Boats. If you won’t feel the Johnny Depp vibes in the movie “The Tourist” here, then Ridesharing Forum doesn’t know with you.
On the official Instagram of Uber, the company wrote, “Uber Boat just dropped across the Mediterranean with @clickandboat (emojis) Uber One members get 10 percent back in credits every time you book. Sea you out there (emoji)”
Destinations covered
This brand-new initiative is done in partnership with Click&Boat, a worldwide peer-to-per boat rental and yacht charter platform, often pertained to as “the Airbnb of boats.”
Click&Boat connects private and professional boat owners with holidaymakers wanting to rent sailboats, catamarans, motorboats, and jet skis for day trips or extended vacations.
Christian Berces, the CEO of Click&Boat, told the Ridesharing Forum team, “We are pleased to collaborate with Uber to make boating experiences more accessible to holidaymakers across southern Europe.”
The destinations that will be covered are:
- Portugal
- France
- Spain
- Italy
- Croatia
It is also bound to launch in 23 coastal cities, including Split in Croatia, Dubrovnik also in Croatia, Saint-Tropez in the French Riviera, Nice in France, Mallorca in Spain, and Barcelona in Spain as well.
Europe is among the hottest destinations on the planet. There’s Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Budapest, Seville, Portugal, and Slovenia, teeming with attractions from the Eiffel Tower to the Swiss Alps.
But wait, there’s more! Berces further noted, “While we will be trialing in these areas, there is scope to expand beyond the 60 destinations selected.”
How to book Uber Boat
Passengers and travelers may book these Uber Boat services via Uber Reserve, on the Uber official app, or through the Uber for Business delegate booking feature.
This expansion also aligns with much broader trends in experiential tourism – think of experiential marketing – with operators increasingly investing in electric ferries and app-based boat services to transform Europe’s coastal travel industry.
These boat services are aimed at catering to tourists seeking luxury travel experiences during the busy summer season of 2026 – you know there’s going to be the FIFA 26 World Cup happening in the tri-countries of Mexico, Canada, and the USA.
Uber Boat will be on a full scale this mid-June, allowing tourists and locations explore the most popular coastal destinations in Europe. Disney’s Adventure Cruise sailing from Singapore might be cringing!
