It is odd to track down somebody else’s food cravings, but call this curiosity. DoorDash has come up with recent official data detailing what America (and Asians in the USA) ordered as they watched Sunday’s Super Bowl LX game.
Highlights: chicken wings were the favorite, loaded fries were the fave side, and, as for the drinks, the rest is history. Here’s the scoop.
Chicken wings reign supreme
Get this, over a whopping five million orders were placed on DoorDash on the day and night of the Big Game, obviously higher than the figure of 5.7 million last year.
“We crunched the numbers to see which fan favorite claimed the title for Most Ordered Game Day Item. It was a close match, but we have a winner,” DoorDash told Ridesharing Forum. Cue in the drum rolls, the favorite to order is a plate of chicken wings.
Yes, nobody could go on an empty stomach year-on-year during the Big Game. Orders of chicken wings are up almost around 25 percent than orders from other days. In 2025, almost 640,000 wing orders were placed. You just can’t cheer for your favorite team, shouting with clenched fist over your smart TV set without chicken wings served to you, can you?
Another question that boggled science is that, which wings are they? Bone-in or boneless. Interestingly enough, bone-in wings won in a blowout. Forty-four out of 51 states, including the District of Columbia, ordered more bone-in wings than boneless. The states that were faithful to boneless wings were Nevada, Iowa, Idaho, New Hampshire, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Shhh! What happens in Vegas, staaays in Vegas.
As for the flavour of the wings, certain states also got certain choices.
“The classic buffalo flavor dominated the map, ranking as [the top choice] in 39 states like New York, Hawaii, Washington, Massachusetts, Alabama, and Louisiana,” the DoorDash data stated. “Some prefer to control the sauce themselves, opting for plain wings across nine states like California, Florida, Texas, Alaska, and more. Georgia stayed true to its roots, opting for lemon pepper wings, proving Atlanta’s iconic flavor still runs the wing game in the state. Only Arizona chose ranch-flavored wings as its go-to.”
When they knew, indeed. But who should do it? A fashion connoisseur? Meanwhile, for the pizza, here’s how DoorDash says it.
“The Pizza Play,” the food delivery platform wrote. “Pizza was the runner-up with over 637,000 pizza orders – enough pizza orders to feed a sold-out Levi’s Stadium crowd nearly [10 times].”
Here’s the ranking: pepperoni was the main fave, followed by classic, then followed by Hawaiian and seafood pizza.
Appetizers, beverages
Talk about appetizers, well, guess what? Food enthusiasts are willing to wipe down their fingers every now and then with loaded fries, which, you know, are topped with creamy cheese, and more. That’s the number one favorite.
The plot twist? Americans went Asian with the appetizers, ordering dumplings and spring rolls in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Colorado, Alaska, Maryland, Texas, and Virginia. A round of applause for these.
American football fans like to wash down those irresistible cravings with these top three: Coors Light, Budweiser, and Michelob Ultra. Pro tip: share this news around online with your family and friends! Congratulations, Seattle Seahawks!
