The Financial Times recently reported that Uber Eats is soon launching in Finland, part of strengthening its dealings and operations in Europe. That means the Finnish people can soon experience the American food delivery app, yes!
Exclusively from Financial Times
Ridesharing Forum, together with ridesharing media, previously broke the news that Uber is going to launch in Europe very soon, with Finland as one of the markets.
The other countries part of this deal are: the Czech Republic, Greece, Romania, Austria, and Norway. So, this is seeing the news in action, and that means the ridesharing company is proactively working on their schemes.
Once again, Susan Anderson, the representative of Uber and its global delivery head, told Ridesharing Forum through its official press releases, "We think it’s time to raise the bar, shake things up, and offer better value for money across the entire industry.”
This is going to be seen as a challenge for Finnish firm Wolt, which controls the lion’s share of the delivery market in Finland. It won’t be long before they topple Wolt, since Uber and Uber Eats are the largest ridesharing company and among the biggest food delivery apps worldwide.
The ‘Hello, Again Finland!’ press release few years ago
Well, it appears that Uber has been so close to Finland that there’s quite a story to tell here. This isn’t the first time they are touching on the Finnish market, actually.
There was a previous press release on the Uber official blog that should offer a recall on Uber’s history with Finland.
“Over the last year, Uber has been going through a major period of change. Under the leadership of our new CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, we’ve set a course for more responsible growth with a new approach to building long-term partnerships with cities and regulators. While there’s still a lot of work to be done around the world, we’re proud to announce the latest example of this process: our return to Finland,” the press release noted.
Uber also narrated how they once paused their operations in Finland. The reason is stated below:
“Almost one year ago we paused our operations in Finland, pending the implementation of a new modern transportation law which embraces digital services like Uber. Those new regulations have now come into effect and so we’re delighted to relaunch in Helsinki today. Drivers who have been fully licensed under the new regulations will now be able to help hundreds of thousands of Finns get around at the touch of a button.”
But, at the end of the press release, Uber stated they are returning to Helsinki, so is this Uber Eats going into the Finnish market the second time they are returning?
What’s clear is that these are two different scenarios. Glad for the world’s number one ridesharing app, and its leading food delivery department! For more ridesharing news, sign up for your account today on Ridesharing Forum, and take part in the talks!
