Parkgoers In New York City Stumble Upon Uber Eats Bag, To Find… Cats Inside!

Let’s take it lighter for today with Uber Eats. Remember, the news here is more about the curiosity of why there is an Uber Eats bag under a bench in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. Images from pet publication The Dodo show that the bag isn’t a to-go package or something, but a real, real, Uber Eats bag from the back of a motorcycle maybe. Did the Uber Eats driver just quit his job, and randomly inserted the bag underneath, so he could use his motorcycle the way it was before?

On Sunday, a group of people doing a charity walk in Prospect Park discovered this bag.

There was something off about the bag. It’s dirty, and it’s under a bench, so their followed their curiosities, and opened the bag, to find two cats inside, clearly abandoned.

“I do believe that whoever dumped these cats … wanted someone to find them,” cat rescuer Dana Heis stated. “I think it was a situation [where] they had no choice.”

The Dodo further went on reporting that the parkgoers sympathized with the cats, so they carried the bag with them for the whole five-kilometer loop.

“At the end of the walk … they put them all down, and the orange cat jumped back into the bag with the other two,” Heis chatted with Ridesharing Forum.

The parkgoers immediately got in touch with the rescuer, who right away agreed to take them in. The Dodo said that when the cats first came into the rescue house, “they were a bit shaken up.” Well, obviously.

“They were pretty nervous,” Heis described. “It had been quite a day, obviously.”

So, the rescuer worked on getting the cats vaccinated and brought with medications.

“They had been very friendly and sweet with everyone,” Heis added.

To honor the way they were discovered, found, and rescued, the cat rescuer decided to name the cats, “Grubhub,” “Seamless,” and “DoorDash,” named after Uber Eats’ competitors basing it upon the Uber Eats bag where they were found.

“They were just so thankful to be back indoors,” Heis told this website Ridesharing Forum. “They clearly were not outdoor cats.”

The cat rescuer is simply thankful that the cats chanced upon people really concerned, and thankfully, too, not encountered people who discovered them only to play with them or abuse them, hypothetically-speaking.

“The better option for anyone that can’t keep their pets anymore is to take them to the city shelter or to a vet hospital … rather than just leaving them out there and hoping for the best,” Heis further stated.

DoorDash has found a long-term caretaker – just like in the pet movies – while Seamless and Grubhub are still looking for people to foster them or adopt them. You may be interested. Share your thoughts here on the Ridesharing Forum website!
