Careem Pay is Careem’s finance division. It is a very comprehensive digital financial services platform integrated within the official Careem app, which is authorized by a Middle Eastern central bank.
With Careem Pay, you can store funds, pay for services, settle utility bills, send money locally through phone number or Emirates ID, and make quick and low-cost global remittances to more than 30 countries, more than ever in the past.
With this expansion in these two of the most prosperous economies in the Middle East, consumers in the United Arab Emirates, where Careem Pay is centered, can start transferring funds directly to bank accounts in both countries through the Careem app official.
Interestingly, the media did not record statements from Careem regarding this matter, but the goal is strong.
Under this move, Careem Pay’s growing presence and influence in the remittance ecosystem in the area will expand beyond just Pakistan, India, Egypt, Europe, and Great Britain.
Fast is the name of the game, and support for high-value transactions is also the middle name.
Transfers to Türkiye and Saudi Arabia are up to $551,000 and $132,000, respectively.
This range is placing Careem Pay beyond everyday remittances, extending into much bigger financial use cases such as education payments, family support, and property-related transfers. Wonderful.
This update will also enhance Careem’s subscription ecosystem from the international perspective. Specifically, users subscribed to Careem Plus will benefit from no-transfer fees and preferential exchange rates, a model that is fairly new in the financial technology spectrum.
It is also three-way. Careem is making a historic soccer goal since Saudi Arabia is among the world’s largest remittance markets, dominated by trust, security, and bank-based transfers.
On the other hand, Türkiye is driven by a sizeable global diaspora, with demand that is centered around speed and reliability of transfers.
Of course, the United Arab Emirates, the UAE, Careem’s centerpiece market in that this financial and economic design, a sight to behold.
