Lyft To Launch Its Own Business Travel Brand!

Business travels are wonderful and amazing, only don’t make these business travelers work so much on the trip. Here’s the scoop.

Lyft is expanding its business by introducing Alcove, its newest global chauffeur brand. This brings together the existing network of TBR Global Chauffeuring, and its systems with new technologies aimed at business travelers, or the corporate travel market.

Originally, TBR Global Chauffeuring is your international, luxury ground transportation and executive chauffeur provider founded in 1991, and headquartered in Glasgow, UK.

“We are TBR,” the company stated in its official website profile. “With a solid team of over 150 passionate individuals based across our offices in Glasgow, Manchester, London, Boston, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and Dubai, TBR serves over 3,000 cities across the world. We work together with a shared drive and the common goal of being internationally renowned for customer excellence.”

Now, it is rebranding to Alcove, which TBR Global Chauffeuring will transition to. Alcove will operate in thousands of cities across not just one continent, but six continents. Existing customers of TBR will keep working with the same service teams during the transition.

David Risher, the CEO of Lyft, spoke about this breakthrough, saying, “Lyft is moving up and out, creating customer-obsessed products up and down the value chain and in more places around the world. Alcove supercharges that strategy.”

Also, Alcove is bound to cater to managed corporate travel programs, bookers, and business travelers, including VIP and complex adventurers, big events, multi-car bookings, and security-sensitive transportations.

A new booking and trip-management portal is to launch soon, initially for managed business account customers. To follow is the self-service access and mobile app, as customers continue to get support via direct corporate and travel management company relationships.

To stay organized, Lyft Business customers will still get access to Alcove, but it will operate as a separate brand. The company further noted that the combined experience of TBR Global Chauffeuring, accounting for more than three decades, and Lyft’s technologies will give travel managers greater visibility and control over ground transport programs. Arranging business travels is different from arranging leisure travels.

Alcove follows Lyft’s acquisition of TBR Global Chauffeuring and forms a part of the company’s expansion beyond on-demand rideshare into premium mobility services.

Under this brand-new brand, TBR’s existing services, which include 24/7 support, VIP travel, event logistics, and complex trips, will continue. The full launch of this is to happen this 2027.

Josie Celestial, who often finds herself traveling for business in the industry she is part of, is happy for this, as she said this streamlines her entire business trips.

Lyft is a ridesharing app that connects passengers with nearby drivers through a mobile app. Users enter their destination, select a ride option, and view estimated fares before booking. Once matched, passengers track their driver’s arrival, complete their journey, and pay electronically. They can also rate drivers after each trip.
