Lyft Introduces Feature For Tagging Drivers As Passengers’ Favorites, Ignoring Them

Not every ride experience with Lyft is good, so this ridesharing app has introduced this new feature so passengers can tag their drivers as their favorites or block them. This and more in this Ridesharing Forum report.

Favorite-ing your driver

This new personalization and safety feature will give drivers a better ride experience. Since the recent reveal from the app, Lyft will be allowing drivers to receive favorite tags, or blocking tags if their passenger don’t like or love their ride.

It works this way. When a driver is added to a passenger’s favorite list, they will be notified. From there, they will have priority access to the rider’s future scheduled requests.

Lyft stated in their official statement, “This isn’t just about convenience – it’s about giving you more control over your ride experience. You can build relationships with drivers who get your vibe, whether that’s keeping the car cool for your commute or knowing when you need quiet time before a big meeting.”

The ridesharing app also told this website that this feature comes as an effort to provide drivers with more earning opportunities, as well as to build relationships with passengers they come across with everyday.

“When drivers know they’re appreciated, it creates a positive cycle. They’re motivated to continue providing exceptional service, and you get consistently great rides with people you trust,” the company further noted.

Meanwhile, the feature to block drivers is available, so drivers will be aware if they’ve offended passengers. From this on, they could know how to correct their driving style and satisfy their passengers.

This feature is historic as it is the first of its kind. It belongs to Lyft’s ongoing commitment to make it the safest ridesharing app to get around.

Daughter mistakenly placed in a Lyft ride

A mom from Michigan is asking for answers after her seven-year-old daughter was mistakenly placed inside a Lyft ride with no company after their summer school program.

This incident happened over the previous week in Harper Woods, particularly in the Chandler Park Academy, in Detroit.

The mother, ShanteJah Harmon, expressed her concerns about the lack of proper procedures.

“It’s a whole process they supposed to go through, and they just skipped the complete process and just put her in a Lyft,” she said.

It was likewise a matter of similar name mix-up. It happened when a teacher with the same name as her daughter ordered a ride home. Upon the arrival of the Lyft driver, the school staff mistakenly told the daughter to get in the car.

“My daughter got in the Lyft. She made it all the way to the people’s house, and when she got there, the Lyft was telling her to get out. She refused to get out. She was frightened, she was scared, she was crying,” Harmon further went on.

The driver, realizing the mistake and noticing the child’s dilemma, contacted the school for assistance.

The school has already implemented stricter policies regarding student releases to mitigate the issue and prevent this incident from happening again.
