Seems as if it was only yesterday when last year’s St. Patrick’s Day was featured here on Ridesharing Forum, and authorities know it already when during these celebrations – a time when Irish pub crawls, and street parties are everywhere – people move around a lot.
So, in places like Colorado and Washington, D.C., there are free ridesharing rides, and reimbursements for your Lyft and Uber rides. Here’s how things work here.
Reimbursements in Colorado
Revelers for St. Patrick’s Day will get the opportunity to avail of exclusive discounts on Uber and Lyft rides, through reimbursements.
A law firm is sponsoring this. The Wilhite Law Firm stated that from March 14th to March 16th, passengers can call a Lyft or an Uber from any location during their gathering to their home, and they will reimburse you up to $20.
However, note that only those 21 years old and older are eligible to join, and they must have a valid identification card.
The Wilhite Law Firm also added they have been providing this program since 2006, in an effort to help keep Colorado roads and citizens safe from crashes caused by drunk driving during this holiday. Newest developments were just implemented. Head over to this online form to be reimbursed.
Free rides in Washington, D.C.
And that’s not all. If you happen to find yourself in Washington, D.C. this St. Patrick’s Eve and St. Patrick’s Day, Lyft will help you stay safe.
In cooperation with the Washington Regional Alcohol Program, this initiative helps combat drunk driving, wherein those 21 and older in the Washington, D.C. area celebrating the Luck of the Irish may order free Lyft rides home up to $15.
“Lyft is dedicated to providing access to reliable and responsible rides, and we’re proud to partner with programs like WRAP to offer Lyft as an alternative to impaired driving,” Kamillah Wood, director of public policy for community safety at Lyft, told Ridesharing Forum. “Through our Roadway Safety Program and our partnership with the public, we hope to empower our community with the tools to protect themselves and those around them [this St. Patrick’s Day holiday season].”
They simply need to enter the SoberRide promo code in the Lyft app’s Payment tab, which can be found under the Add Lyft Pass option. The coupon code will be posted at 3 p.m. local time this March 17th, Tuesday.
Passengers may use the $15 ride credit starting 4 p.m. this March 17th and will remain in operation until 4 a.m. this Wednesday, March 18th. It will also be valid this Cinco de Mayo, Independence Day, and Halloween. Whoa!
“Over a third of U.S. traffic fatalities during St. Patrick’s Day involve drunk drivers, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,” stated Kurt Erickson, Washington Regional Alcohol Program president.
Things to do this St. Patrick’s Day 2026
Leprechauns, clovers, and green – St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated yearly on March 17th, honoring the patron saint of Ireland by remembering his death and the arrival of Christianity in the western European country.
Originally a religious feast day, it has evolved into a global celebration of Irish culture featuring parades, wearing green, traditional music, and food.
The best things to do during this feast are attending parades in Dublin itself – as well as in New York City and Chicago – visiting local Irish pubs, listening to live music, and eating traditional foods like soda bread, corned beef, or cabbage. It’s also a time to bond with the family. For more ridesharing news, sign up for your account today on this Ridesharing Forum site.
