French soccer superstar Antoine Griezmann has another pair of big shoes to fill: those that involve Uber Eats.
The 33-year-old forward or attacking midfielder for Atlético Madrid is now the brand ambassador of Uber Eats, particularly Uber One.
The controversial Uber One, which has been under an investigation service after issues with its subscription service, is a subscription option of Uber, giving users access to the benefits, such as rides and order savings.
Monthly memberships are available for purchase at a minimum of $9.99 with applicable taxes. Yearly memberships are available at a minimum of $96.
Aside from partnerships with third parties offering discounted membership to eligible users, Uber One also allows its members to receive a $0 Delivery Fee plus five percent off eligible orders on restaurants and stores marked with the Uber One icon.
Members also get five percent discounts on most rides, as well as wearn five percent Uber One credits on eligible rides.
“Eligible merchants will have a gold Uber One icon underneath their name. $15 minimum order to receive $0 Delivery Fee and 5% off from participating non-grocery stores, and $40 minimum on participating grocery stores for $0 Delivery Fee, where grocery is available. 5% off doesn’t apply to grocery orders,” Uber stated on its official website.
Griezmann is the new face of the latest Uber Eats campaign, which is currently still in the works.
Born in Mâcon, France, it wasn’t easy for him to fight for his soccer dream. Before he found his home in the Spanish team, he earned several setbacks at several French football academies that rejected him.
Until Spain’s Real Sociedad scouted him when he was 13. So, he moved to the Basque country, balancing his school and the rigorous training with Spanish football.
In 2010, he made his professional debut, playing regularly in the La Liga in the following seasons.
“His speed, agility, and skill caught the attention of top European clubs, and in 2014, he moved to Atlético Madrid,” his profile on the official Olympics website indicated.
Then, under the training with coach Diego Simeone, he enjoyed a highly successful spell. During those, he managed to win the Spanish Supercup, the UEFA Europa League, and the UEFA Super Cup.
He also gained immense status with the Rojiblancos, becoming their record-breaking goalscorer in January 2024 after netting his 174th goal for the club.
Currently, this football superstar is signed with sports goods brand Decathlon and football brand Kipsta, after 14 years with Puma. As the newest brand ambassador for Uber Eats, Griezmann is set to succeed his former teammates from the national squad who got featured in the brand’s last campaign.
However, teaser images and clips of the campaign in the works have leaked on X, particularly posted by the account of @GriezmannWorld. In the clip, the football superstar, wearing a black turtleneck top and a denim jacket, was seen conversing with a stout guy with glasses.
"Thanks for the assist Fred, you were great. @ubereats_fr Griezmann for Uber Eats to promote Uber One subscription,” @GriezmannWorld noted in the caption.
