Disclaimer: Uber Eats isn’t directly involved here, as these are fake Uber Eats staff.
You’ve heard of fake Uber rides, and now here are fake Uber Eats orders that had launched and highlighted this teledrama-esque court scene that had tears flowing, and people going to prison.
Beware of people posing as Uber Eats deliveries
The criminals posed as Uber Eats delivery riders, knocked on the door of their victims, which was why they were let in, and that’s when they did the unthinkable.
Montravis Luke, Javion Clemmons, Tyla Sprattling, Willie Beasley, Cameron Ross, and Lakavin Foster bowed out, and pleaded guilty inside an emotional courtroom for their roles in the murder and robbery of their victims.
They were involved in three separate shootings, with victims being three men, and the sister of one of the victims and the children of the other victim had the court moved in tears.
“He was bold enough to be free and do all these robberies and killings. So now God put him in a place where he needs to be,” the victim’s sister, Breonna Cody, said.
Clemmons was sentenced to life plus five years of robbing and killing Breonna’s sibling, Christopher Holt and Martino Allen in three separate shootings last year.
The testimony stated that the murderers knocked on their victim’s door in their apartment in Union City, pretending to be with Uber Eats, and so the murderers were let in.
“He deserved protection and not an ambush,” the testimony stated.
What could be the motive?
Reports from the prosecutors stated that Clemmons and Sprattling set up Holt when Sprattling asked him to give her something to eat since she came from surgery. When he arrived and tried to leave, Clemmons and Sprattling had already robbed and killed him.
And yes, Uber has something to say about people posing as Uber drivers, or Uber Eats staff.
In their official website, Uber stated, “Keep yourself protected from scammers. Scammers may sometimes target driver and delivery-partners – pretending to be Uber – in an attempt to get personal details like banking information. We want to provide you with tips for how to recognize a scammer. Uber will never call, text, or email you to request your password, verification code, credit card information, or banking details, so be cautious of anybody contacting you this way and asking for this information.”
Thank you, Uber and Uber Eats!
To protect yourself, check, use a strong password on your app, and never simply let anybody in your residence even if they claim to be from Uber.
‘Daddy loves you’
Holt’s children were also testifying in court, saying how much they miss their dad, sharing the impact they had on their lives.
Holt’s eight-year-old stated that when he plays baseball and the sun shines on him, he feels that his dad is watching him from heaven. This also had the people in court in tears.
His daughter Skylar also played a recording from a Teddy Bear.
“Skylar. Daddy loves you,” the recording stated. Skylar stated the teddy bear is all she has now. “Because of these individuals over there.”
The victim’s sister added that nothing could have prepared them for the pain of losing her sibling “in such a senseless and violent way.”
“(I was) manipulated into thinking that it was okay when it wasn’t,” she added.
For the mother of the victim, those guys were “evil,” and she said she is leaving no sympathy for them.
Share your heartfelt messages! And, let the criminals know what they deserve. Again, Uber Eats is not involved here, since these are criminals who posed as Uber Eats. Merry Christmas! ‘Til then!
