Each year, since 2009, food and beverage enthusiasts from across the globe gather in Asia’s world city, Hong Kong, for the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival. It isn’t a mass event, and is as exclusive as fashion weeks and business galas, but you might have probably learned about this sometime before.
The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is organized annually by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, following the successful exemption of duties on wine last 2008, establishing this Chinese city as a premier Asian wine hub. Until this very day, it is a signature international event. Here’s DoorDash+ guides on this event, since DoorDash isn’t yet in Hong Kong, but is featuring the festival alongside Ridesharing Forum. Let’s go!
See you in Central Harbourfront!
The date is set, and it’s going to be this October!
“The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is an annual celebration at the end of October of epicurean offerings. Taking place at the Central Harbourfront, it promises great wine and delectable global treats, live performances, and a deliciously good time, all set against the breathtaking Victoria Harbour!” the official description reads.
Situated in Central, the main thoroughfare of this East Asian city, the Central Harbourfront is an open-air event space located on the reclaimed land along Victoria Habour, right at the central business district of Hong Kong.
The Central Harbourfront features 360-degree views, and has previously played the host of big events like Art Central and Clockenflap. The Hong Kong Observation Wheel is also here. It sits in the same city as where you can find Hong Kong Disneyland and the Tsim Sha Tsui bustling neighborhood.
What to expect
The title may be the “Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival,” but there are more things to see here. First is an illustrious global wine experience.
“Surrounded by Hong Kong’s iconic skyline, [the yearly Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival offers] an unparalleled opportunity to discover [the finest wines from international locations] - all at affordable prices. Explore renowned labels from Europe, Australia, and beyond – including award-winning bottles. [Take on a ride beyond the mainstream too], with hidden gems from lesser-known regions, Chinese wines, natural wines, and low-alcohol alternatives,” the festival noted.
Of course, you will also be able to pair those beverages with delectable food while witnessing world-class and eye-popping entertainment that are bound to take your breath away.
This is also the perfect event to include on your bucket lists and itineraries as you tour around the beautiful destination that is Hong Kong in China. DoorDash Guides+ is an exclusive feature by the Ridesharing Forum team, tapping DoorDash to join the team in featuring markets where it is not yet present.
