You’ve heard stories of food delivery staff allegedly stealing the food orders of their customers after taking photos of them to show “proof of delivery,” but how about dogs being stolen after a food delivery? The Ridesharing Forum team has more.
A local family in Colorado reported how their family pet had gone missing, allegedly stolen after they had food delivered to their home early last week.
The missing pet dog was a cute chihuahua, a Mexican breed of toy dog, who was reportedly and allegedly stolen after the food delivery.
Trina Gallegos, one of its owners, recalled, “My daughter put the dog out back so she can eat. Then my daughter didn’t notice, but my other daughter came home and noticed the note on the door stating that she had taken our dog because she didn’t want her to get hit.”
In an interesting turn of events, the note read that its writer had the dog, saying how they were “worried” they “would get hit.” The person who wrote the note also added how they knocked, but got no answer.
A phone number was also indicated on the note. Gallegos and Jordan Silva, the other owner, tried calling the number, but they only got an out-of-service message.
What’s unclear is whether the note was from the person who delivered their food to their daughter, except that this happened after food was delivered at their doorstep.
Silva shared with the media how their chihuahua was not only a pet for them, but a family member.
“It’s been kind of hard without my dog, and I just would like my dog home,” Silva pointed out.
So, there was no way the owners could do but to find their pet. Somehow, it has disrupted their normal day-to-day operations, as they would just go out, leave their work, and drive around to look for the dog in the community. It’s not an easy task.
All they wanted was to get their dog back home. Gallegos was kind enough to decide she did not want to press charges on whoever allegedly stole their dog.
“We’re just trying to get her back. I mean, we don’t even want to press charges. We just want our dog back,” said Gallegos.
When asked if the situation could be a misunderstanding, she said maybe, but she just wasn’t certain.
The Sheriff’s Office in Mesa County could not provide a report on the incident as of press time.
Chihuahuas are some of the cutest dogs in the world. A Mexican breed, they would bark in high pitches, unlike other dog breeds.
According to A-Z Animals, chihuahuas are cute because they are loyal and charming, making them amazing family pets. They are extremely intelligent and quick learners.
So, it is really a loss for Gallegos and Silva to find out they’re dog has gone missing.
