A cat owner’s love for a pet cat is so deep that they would go far and wide to reassert that love. Such as what this Amazon customer in California did when an Amazon delivery rider stole her beautiful cat. Here’s the scoop.
Pleading driver to return the cat
The California woman, Diane Huff-Medina, is pleading for the Amazon driver to return her cat safely.
"Please bring her back. That’s all I want out of this. I just want my cat back for myself and for my kids, especially. I have three little boys who love her. We want her back,” she told ridesharing media.
The cat holds a sentimental value for them as they got the cat in 2019, two months after her sons’ dad died in an accident. The six-year-old cat is named Piper, who belonged to the family, particularly to her sons.
She further told the media that even her sons were devastated, keeping asking her when the cat would return.
An investigation was already started.
The lost cat
It was on Thursday last week, December 11th, when the cat-stealing happened. Huff-Medina shared a video on Facebook with the caption, “An Amazon delivery person took our cat… after he dropped off a package on Thursday evening. We just want her back home safely."
It wasn’t a mere accusation, as she has the video to show. It was a surveillance video showing the Amazon Flex driver dropping off a package in her home in Lakewood at around 6 p.m. local time. Before leaving, the driver was seen as interested in taking the cat.
In the video, the Flex driver was also seen playing with the cat before he attempted to pick up the cat. The cat was seen resisting, but he was able to pick it up, placing it in his car.
“…She’s meowing at first, like normal. Then it sounds a little more distressed,” the cat owner told Ridesharing Forum. “Then he just kinda more aggressively grabs her and carries her off like a raccoon or something. … It didn’t look like he was trying to save her, I don’t think. It’s a helpless feeling because we watched her get taken, so I don’t know where she is or if she’s okay.”
And that’s how a lovable cat owner would act if their pet cat got lost, to the point they would plead to the person who took the pet.
