Zomato, the number one food delivery app in India, has rolled out “Ritual.”
India itself is a follower of rituals, such as yoga rituals, and rituals during feasts like the Holi festival – the ancient Hindu “Festival of Colors” celebrated in India to mark the arrival of spring, and the end of winter.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines ritual as anything that relates to rites, “done in accordance with social custom or normal protocol.”
Ritual is Zomato’s newest protein-focused cloud kitchen that offers a range of high-protein beverages and health-focused meal options.
The health advantages of high-protein
Everybody can take a high-protein diet.
A cloud kitchen – also known as a virtual kitchen, ghost kitchen, or dark kitchen – isn’t a storage kitchen. Rather, it is a delivery-only food preparation facility with no dine-in space, designed to serve customers exclusively through online orders.
This is the model of Ritual. However, it says it focuses on high-protein offerings.
Taking high-protein meals offers lots of advantages. According to Healthline, these include:
- Reducing appetite and hunger levels
- Increasing muscle mass and strength
- Being nice for bone health
- Reducing cravings and desire for late-night snacking
- Accelerating metabolism and increasing fat-burning
- Lowering your blood pressure
- Helping in promoting weight loss
- Not harming and doing bad to your kidneys
It is a misconception to think that only those who want to grow their muscles should eat high-protein. Eating high-protein is amazing for them, but high-protein also does a lot of magical things.
Ridesharing Forum team took a glimpse at Ritual’s menu to find strong focus on protein-based drinks, with categories in the catalog, such as plant protein shakes, whey protein shakes, yeast protein shakes, and protein milkshakes, along with hot and iced coffee options. Customers can also select from multiple flavors and protein bases, including plant and whey.
In addition to beverages, the menu also features salads, which implies that the concept is aimed at fitness and health-conscious consumers looking for protein-rich meals as well.
In other news, there are limitations, too
While Ritual seems ready to launch, it is presently live on the Zomato app, but available only in Gurugram as of this moment. Maybe since Gurugram is India’s technology and financial hub? It has not yet been announced whether it will roll out in the other key markets of the South Asian nation.
Zomato’s officials have no official statements on the matter, but insiders are saying the company is continuously designing the menu and recipes for protein-focused offerings.
This comes as Zomato faces intensifying competition from Swiggy in the food delivery dimension, especially in the big mass-premium health food segment. For more ridesharing and delivery news, keep it subscribed on this Ridesharing Forum site.
