Wonder Introduces New Grubhub Features For Restaurant Owners, Customers

Wonder, the platform that owns food delivery app Grubhub, is introducing brand-new features not only for customers, but for restaurant owners, too! Here’s the scoop.

For customers

Platform Wonder, which acquired Grubhub last year, is letting customers order from the partner restaurants of the app via the Wonder app, alongside existing options from Wonder’s own restaurants and Blue Apron meal kits.

According to the senior deputy and general manager of Wonder, Courtney Lawrie, this big change positions Wonder as a single platform for various meal formats, which include delivery, meal kits, and heat-and-eat meals.

“Wonder is the only platform that guarantees to satisfy every craving, without compromise and regardless of format, channel, or daypart,” she told ridesharing media. “Bringing local restaurants to the Wonder app is a massive step forward in our brand’s evolution.”

The menu of Wonder features cuisines from various chefs, which include José Andrés, Marcus Samuelsson, and Bobby Flay, alongside restaurants like Di Fara Pizza and Tejas Barbecue.

With Wonder’s first-of-its-kind, historic multi-restaurant ordering, customers could already mix and match dishes from multiple chefs and restaurants in a single order, just like how they do in fast-food chains.

Lawrie added that Wonder has also refreshed its branding, which includes the new logo, a bolder color palette, and a more confident brand voice designed to evoke customers’ emotional satisfaction over a sumptuous dish.

For restaurant owners, merchants

Grubhub has also recently introduced new features and refreshed their existing brands to open new marketing channels for restaurants that drive visibility. This is also to help them generate more sales for their restaurant partners.

“At Grubhub, we’re always exploring new ways to increase value for the 415,000+ merchants across our platform in more than 4,000 cities nationwide…” Grubhub stated. “Tens of thousands of Grubhub merchants in Wonder’s existing markets are now available to customers through the Wonder app. This gives Grubhub merchants access to an additional platform – with no extra work and at no extra cost – to reach even more customers.”

By sitting together with Wonder originals and prepared meals, these Grubhub merchants could gain visibility among Wonder’s diner base while still benefiting from the scale and support of the food delivery platform.

Wonder also owns Blue Apron, Grubhub, Relay, and Tastemade.
