Wonder Food Delivery To Bring Dishes By Celebrity Chefs To Arlington, Virginia

People in Virginia, celebrate! It’s official! Wonder, a next-gen food hall and groundbreaking food delivery service, is tapping celebrity chefs to offer their dishes as it opens in Arlington, Virginia, later this year. Here is the scoop.

Dishes from celebrity chefs

Wonder, the owner of Grubhub, is bringing dishes made from celebrity chefs Bobby Flay, José Andres, Nancy Silverton, and Marcus Samuelsson to Virginia food enthusiasts very soon.

Flay is an award-winning chef, restaurateur, cookbook writer, and media personality. He has opened several upscale restaurants in New York City and nearby since the 1990s.

Meanwhile, Andres, the co-host of the newest food show on NBC with Uber Eats endorser Martha Stewart, is a Spanish-American chef and restaurateur. He was born in Spain and later moved to the United States in the 90s, too.

Third is Silverton, also an award-winning American chef, restaurateur, and author. She is also into baking. Then, there’s Samuelsson is an Ethiopian-born Swedish-American celebrity chef, restaurateur, and television personality. He is the head chef in Red Rooster in Harlem, New York.

In addition to those chefs, Wonder also has a catalog of award-winning eateries from across the country, such as Tejas Barbeque, SriPraPhai, Di Fara Pizza, and Fred’s Meat & Bread.

“Diners can experience any combination of these chefs’ dishes and restaurants together in one order, whether they’re dining in, picking up or ordering delivery,” a press release the Ridesharing Forum team obtained stated. “And unlike traditional food delivery, Wonder owns every step of the process, from menu creation, food sourcing and prep to cooking and delivery, consistently bringing customers an elevated, personalized dining experience, with deliveries quickly dispatched by Wonder’s own couriers and at your door in less than 30 minutes.”

Wonder is a food hall and delivery service with dozens of restaurants in the Northeast USA. It plans to open several locations in the area. This June, a flagship location will open in The District’s 14th Street corridor at 1925 14th St. Northwest, followed by locations in Rosslyn, West End, College Park, Cleveland Park, Reston, and Franconia later this 2025.

Wonder has also gotten into a deal with DC Central Kitchen, the non-profit and social enterprise that combats hunger and poverty via job training and job creation.

As you may well know, Wonder acquired Grubhub late last year. This acquisition from Just Eat Takeaway was worth an enterprise value of over $650 million, including $500 million of senior notes and $150 million in cash. The acquisition was completed months ago this year.

The partnership and integration of Grubhub with Wonder is the next step in the platform’s mission to craft more food and make them more accessible, championing convenience, speed, and selection of first-party and third-party restaurants, groceries, and meal kits in just one app order.
