Very Lazy To Order Pizza On DoorDash? Its New AI Agent Can Order For You!

Ever since DoorDash came into existence, it has made ordering your food cravings a whole lot easier. Way too easier. However, it is interesting to note that there are still others who find it really, really difficult to order their cravings via DoorDash.

Are you one of those people? If you are, DoorDash has found an answer, much like the answer is, coffee!

If you are too lazy to order via the app, then you can simply send a text message to DoorDash, and their AI team will make the order for you. Yes, like texting your friend on Facebook Messenger, or Instagram Messenger!

The medium is iMessages, where you can text and AI agent what your orders are. Apparently, yes, this works on i-devices, or Apple devices for now, but ridesharing media stated Android support will come sometime in the future. Gray or orange? Is that orange?

Then, as DoorDash’s AI receives your prompt, it will browse through all the restaurants in your area, giving you suggestions based on your past orders and what you told them in the text.

One of the most popular examples is asking to bring you your Friday night order, and this technology is making it easier for you without needing to go through the app. Even if it simply takes a few seconds or minutes.

In image samples from the media, it reads, “Get me a healthy dinner for my family, ordering for my son too so nothing too spicy,” to which DoorDash’s instant messaging AI responded, “on it - dinner for the family, let me find some options that even the little one will have fun with (no spicy)”

“In some ways, this actually feels like a blast from the past. SMS ordering used to be a thing, before the rise of smartphones. Domino’s introduced a way to order pizza by sending them an emoji all the way back in 2015. Though, to be fair, that was just one restaurant,” Jacqueline Thomas, correspondent for IGN, was stating.

If you think this isn’t serious, it is serious. Sign up to test this feature on the official DoorDash website, but only if you’re on iOS. Android users will need to order the traditional way for now, but the feature might be coming on these gadgets soon.

Meanwhile, in other DoorDash news, the world’s number one food delivery app has expanded its Snap/EBT program by adding seven new grocers to its network. New partners include regional chains like Albertsons Market, Amigos, and Boyer’s Food Markets.

Mike Goldblatt, the deputy of enterprise partnerships at DoorDash, told RSF how this is like a “mall in the pocket,” describing the latest retail and technological tool expansions as part of DoorDash’s continuous effort to expand beyond restaurant deliveries.

He further noted that this year’s focus is to expand DoorDash’s partnerships to service retailers and customers better, as the user’s behavior shifts from one-off convenience-geared orders toward a more routine shopping cadence.
