Will you see Uber soon in Los Angeles? Yes, since this ridesharing platform is already partnered with Best Friends Animal Society, a nationwide animal welfare organization started in the 1980s – home to over a thousand dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, pigs, and other animals looking for their second chance.
In the recent story on Uber’s newsroom official, Uber calls this teaming up, “the showgirl spirit all week,” featuring the most festive promos, in-app surprises, and even the chance to adopt their very own showcat.
This initiative is known to be “Uber Showcats,” a limited-time pop-up and adoption experience running in Los Angeles, New York City, and Nashville, starting this October 3rd. In New York City, it is happening along Lafayette Street, it’s along Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, and Laurel Street is the venue in Nashville in Tennessee.
There are glitzy orange-colored pop-ups and fans promos that would make you celebrate this occasion even future. These include adopting the cats digitally, creating customizable charm jewelry – think of bejeweled cat collars – striking a pose in super-glamorous photobooth, take home freebies like gems and signature chai cookies, and a whole lot more.
Best Friends Animal Society has always put lucidity, accountability, and trust in the center of its principles. The organization is committed to their advocates, the people who are making their work possible.
“At Best Friends, we aim for transparency and authenticity — two of our guiding principles — in every aspect of the work we do. And because we not only depend on but trust our family of supporters, we are committed to open, two-way communication and financial transparency across the organization,” the organization stated.
They are also partnered with corporations, foundations, and celebrities, committed to the mobilizations of their audiences, the creation of focused programs, and those who inspire spread the message of courage to adopt cats the way they want this to be.
