“This partnership connects over 3.5 billion cards and more than 150 million merchants that accept Mastercard globally together with Uber’s community of over 8.5 million earners and 170 million users worldwide,” highlighted Sherri Haymond, co-president, Global Partnerships at Mastercard. “By leveraging Mastercard’s end-to-end payment solutions, this deepened work will provide integrated, trusted, and seamless payment experiences for Uber’s workers, small business owners, and consumers while also supporting Uber’s growth.”
Furthermore, the global customer base of Uber will also benefit from the consumer payment products and services of Mastercard, including its Offers Platform. This shall add increased and unique benefits, as well as value to the cardholders of Mastercard who purchase delivery and mobility services on Uber.
Easier travel for seniors
They say you should travel while you’re young, since when you are old and sick, it is going to be a hurdle for you to travel. For Uber, this has a solution.
The ridesharing app has launched a brand-new feature for relatives to remotely book and track trips for their elderly parents or grandparents.
The new “Senior Accounts” has already rolled out in several countries around the world. This feature is designed to make it easier for older people to use the app and get to their destinations.
Particularly, the feature is already available in the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Taiwan, Portugal, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa, and France.
The feature will provide people access to a streamlined version of the app with bigger text and buttons that are easier to tap, as well as screens more simplified and fewer steps to make a booking.
Uber also added that these features are all about helping these elderly people stay independent and connected while giving them confidence that Uber is here for their travel dreams.
Uber is a ride-hailing app that connects passengers with nearby drivers through smartphones. Users enter their destination, choose a ride option, and confirm the trip. The app shows the fare estimate, driver details, and real-time vehicle tracking. Payment is cashless – automatically charged using the user’s selected method. This app is operating in many cities worldwide, offering convenience, quick pickups, and various service tiers, from budget rides to premium vehicles.
