Uber Seeks To Address Flight Check-In Woes With Australia’s Jetstar

Not that Uber isn’t connected to traveling, but that only says that the world’s number one ridesharing app has been in partnerships with airlines recently. Aside from tying up with Riyadh Air, they are also found to be partners with Australia’s Jetstar. Read on for the scoop.

Addressing flight check-in woes

Isn’t it devastating when you get delayed on your flight only because the line at the check-in counters is so long? You are not alone, but Uber is here to fix things for you.

The ridesharing app has partnered with Jetstar so passengers of the airline headed overseas could check in for flights in just within seconds, simply by scanning their passport details directly via the Jetstar app. That’s incredible!

Armor added that travel must “feel like a holiday” from the moment passengers open the app, further noting that this new feature is their “go-to for everything from viewing their flight details and boarding pass to adding extra baggage or seats, all without digging through emails for an itinerary.”

Instead of manually entering their passport details, passengers could use their mobile phones’ cameras to instantly capture their passport details.

“It’s the easiest way to stay in control of your trip, wherever you are,” Jetstar further pointed out.

This new feature is designed to reduce passport entry errors during check-ins, saving time for family and groups who couldn’t just wait to see the destination.

It is available in most international routes at Jetstar, except for flights, such as Vietnam, Fiji, and Vanuatu.

How to access the deal + more perks

Aside from that, there are more perks that await. Jetstar has reduced the number of steps during check-in, including the issuance of the boarding flight. Here’s how to access the deal:

  • First, launch the Jetstar app and choose to check in for your flight.
  • Confirm the health acknowledgement and dangerous goods requirements.
  • Scan your passport when told to do so, then add your mobile boarding pass to your phone. Voila!

More good news await. From the end of this month of October, passengers could also already book an Uber Reserve, get this, directly via the Jetstar app! This would make airport transfers easier than ever.

Uber Reserve is a sub-wing of Uber wherein passengers could order rides from as little as half-hour or up to three months in advance, taking away the stresses associated when attending events or making important trips.

This feature enables passengers to specify their pick-up and drop-off locations, select the desired travel date and time, and choose the car they prefer for their trip. It is also very flexible since the upfront pricing will be displayed beforehand, giving you the flexibility to choose an option that’s most comfortable with you.

Plus, a $10 discount for the first Uber Reserve booking and ride via the official Jetstar app is available until November 30th.

“We know that getting to and from the airport can be one of the most stressful parts of any trip. We are excited to partner with Jetstar to integrate Uber Reserve into the Jetstar app, offering travellers more certainty and choice so they can start and end their journey with peace of mind,” shared Mathieu Marie, Uber Australia and Uber New Zealand’s director of consumer operations.
