Don’t you just adore this year’s summer season? The sun, the beaches, and the company. It’s just perfect. But, what if Uber enters the scene? A remarkable fun in the sun, won’t it be? The world’s number one ridesharing app has many surprises for you this season. Here’s the Ridesharing Forum scoop.
“Summer is officially in full swing – and so is the busy summer travel season,” Uber told the Ridesharing Forum team. “With a record number of Americans expected to hit the skies and the road, Uber is rolling out new features to help you go anywhere and get what you need, all summer long. Whether you’re renting a car, catching a flight, or ordering takeout to your hotel room, we’re here to make your journey smoother, more affordable, and a whole lot more convenient. Here’s what’s landing just in time for your summer getaway.”
Here is what’s in store for you this summer 2025:
Uber Share at Airports
Are you heading to Miami or New York this summer? One of Uber’s hottest features, UberX Share, which is designed to add no more than eight minutes to your trip on average, is expanding to more airports. This way, you could share your trip to only one other airport traveler and save up to 20 percent compared to your regular UberX fare, even if you’re not matched with a co-rider.
The new summer-exclusive feature, UberX Share at Airports, is expanding to over 40 additional airports across the globe. You’ve got: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Lauderdale, Indianapolis, Nashville, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and more cities. Internationally, there are Lisbon, Stockholm, Paris, and Zurich.
Uber Rent
Did you know Uber also has its own rent-a-car service? The feature, Uber Rent, is also expanding to 15 more cities, bringing it to 24 cities across the country.
With this feature, Uber is making the experience more hassle-free, saving consumers a trip to the rented space by bringing a vehicle right to their resideinces, offices, or accommodations, and fetching them when they return, making summer getaways easier than ever.
Taking it to the Skies via American Express
No, these are not the Uber Copters in Europe, but Uber’s partnership with the Delta SkyMiles American Express Card wherein cardholders and members can unlock a limited-time offer for an Uber One monthly statement credit.
To access the offer, use a working Delta SkyMiles® American Express Card to pay for the auto-renewal of your Uber One monthly membership by June 2026 and get up to $9.99 back every month. Wondrous, isn’t it?
Uber Shuttle at Airports x Away
This feature was successful in New York City airports, such as at the John F. Kennedy, but Uber Shuttle is expanding to more airports this summer. What’s more, the ridesharing app has eamed up with Away to surprise fortunate Uber Shuttle riders in New York with their complimentary Away luggage to choose pickup points on the weekends of this summer. Wondrous, too!
Enhanced accommodation drop-offs with Uber Eats
Then, for Uber Eats, the company has upgraded the accommodation drop-off experience to offer consumers more customization and control.
With this feature, you can choose to meet your courier at the hotel entrance or lobby, have your order left there, or request that your order be brought to your room. Convenience, guaranteed and reimagined.
