Uber’s Been Helping People Solve Their Fashion Emergencies

You’ve donned a fabulous dress for a gala dinner or are looking prim and proper, ready to attend the Paris Fashion Week. Then, suddenly, you spill your Starbucks coffee on your dress. This is definitely the last thing you want to happen. Such an awful moment, right?

You wouldn’t always have the chance to go back home to change, but with Uber, you can get new clothes instantly. Here’s how Uber has helped a person solve their fashion emergencies.

Coffee spillage? No worries!

Elyssa Kostopoulos, a correspondent for RUSSH, a fashion magazine, is sharing their experience with Uber with regard to fashion blunders.

First, she shared her experience spilling coffee down her only white T-shirt. So, she contacted Uber Direct. Yes, there’s Uber Direct.

“Somewhere between the fourth (fashion) show and a late lunch that never happened, I spilled coffee down the front of my only clean white T-shirt. The universe has a sense of humour,” Kostopoulos shared. “But this time, I remembered Uber. Or more specifically, Uber Direct – a fast delivery service that doesn’t feel like a service at all, just someone quietly helping you hold it all together.”

What she did was to order new outfits from Uber Direct, which offers same-day shipping. So, it’s really the perfect option for situations like this.

“It’s Uber, but behind the scenes. Invisible, but immediate,” she commented.

She also lauded how there was no shortage of brands to choose from. So, even if you need to replace a fancy dress with the same during a fashion week event, you can.

She shopped for this new dress from a sophisticated brand, placed her order, and received it promptly. Just like asking pizza to be delivered!

“Classic. Clean. Fresh in under an hour, handed to me by a courier who didn’t ask questions (thank god). I swapped it on the office couch, hid the evidence, and carried on like nothing had happened,” Kostopoulos pointed out. Now, she could make herself in the show still looking glamorous despite the mishap.

To the rescue

Also, there was another moment when Uber came to the rescue during a fashion emergency. She was sharing the story of her friend, a creative studios and campaign manager, who might not be able to be there at the fashion show for she forgot to bring or wear the all-important dress code: a black tie.

That friend of hers got invited to the show, so it would be a missed opportunity if she didn’t attend just because she forgot one piece from the dress code.

What her friend did was to launch Uber Direct, search through the catalog to find a black drop-waist dress and the perfect pair of outfit with a braided strap, something that replaces what she had then, not following the dress code, but a crisp denim, a fail-safe Uniqlo knit, and trusty Docs.

“Not long after placing her order, a text message update from Uber advised her that her delivery was just 11 minutes away (a delivery time that’s faster than driving to your local shopping centre), and she was refreshed, changed, and out the door all in under an hour. Ready to shoot – and sit front row – at Albus Lumen’s milestone [10th] anniversary show,” Kostopoulos recalled.

Uber Direct is your white-label delivery service that allows businesses and brands to offer delivery via their own channels using Uber’s delivery network.

“And if all else fails, there’s Uber,” Kostopoulos further noted.
