Uber for Teens has been stunning the ridesharing app’s significant key markets across the globe. This feature works under an Uber account for teenagers, wherein they have the freeedom to request their own rides and order their own meals via Uber Eats, but the twist is that, parents are monitoring.
This week, Uber has announced that teenagers in India could now enjoy more features via the Uber for teenagers here. Particularly, they could already sign up on the Uber app official by directly liking their accounts with the accounts of their parents or guardians. This makes rides incredibly much more safer for them.
Shiva Shailendran, the director of consumer growth for Uber India and South Asia, spoke about the new feature, saying, “We understand that every family is different, and the needs within a household can vary widely. Teens today are far more independent, and we wanted to give them the flexibility to manage their own Uber accounts in a safe and supervised way, with approval from their guardians.”
Shailendran further noted that at the same time, Uber is making it easier for these families to stay connected on the platform, guaranteeing that users, from teenagers to seniors, could travel more comfortably and more confidently.
This is part of Uber’s commitment to broadly enhance their Uber for Teens and Uber Family features.
Another development is in the self-onboarding process. This provides teenagers the independence to manage their own accounts all the while when parents retain full visibility and control. Parents will likewise have total oversight of teen trips and activities within the app.
Plus, rewards under this new development are also massive. Uber has expanded their Uber One membership benefits to cover teens as well, enabling parents and children to receive the same perks and cashback accumulated via the Family Member Hub.
Things are also easier for families, especially when claiming the rewards. The need for a shared payment method has been lifted, meaning users could already create their family profiles without needing to pay using a common credit card and allowing others to use their own. Fantastic, isn’t it?
But wait, there’s more. For senior citizens in India, be prepared. Older users could tinker on their new Senior profile, where they could track rides, request trips, and manage saved places for their teenagers. It starts with their participation in their teenagers’ whereabouts.
Also, when seniors use the app, it will switch to a simpler and more navigable design where the text appears larger and the buttons are fewer. Those are the new developments in Uber India for teens and seniors. Liking them? There will be more Uber news today, so stay tuned.
