Two big, amazing news for Uber today. First, a brand-new Uber Pro is coming soon in California, and Sydney Airport introduces premium Uber features. Here’s the scoop.
Uber Pro reimagined
To those of you who don’t know yet, Uber Pro is a tiered rewards system by the world’s number one ridesharing app, but not for passengers, rather for drivers and delivery personnel, designed to recognize, support, and reward these people based upon the points earned from their completed trips. Uber Pro offers perks like fuel discounts, tuition coverage, priority airport support, and maintenance discounts across four tiers: Blue, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond, like in PlayStation!
“Achieve like a pro. Save like a pro. Fuel like a pro. Enjoy like a pro. Move like a pro. Earn like a pro… Drive. Get paid. Get rewarded,” is how Uber Pro puts it.
This time, Uber Pro has been reimagined to give those individuals more earnings opportunities and better daily experiences.
“A sneak peek at the new and improved rewards headed your way,” Uber told Ridesharing Forum regarding Uber Pro. “We asked drivers what would make Uber Pro better. The result? A more rewarding and flexible program built on your feedback. First announced at last year’s Only on Uber event, the new and improved Uber Pro will begin rolling out in select California cities, bringing exclusive rewards designed just for you.”
Here’s how it works. For drivers in Advantage Mode markets, Uber Pro and Advantage Mode will come together as one system. Drivers qualifying for Advantage Mode are on the same path in the newest Uber Pro and shall continue earning rewards like priority Trip Radar matching and access to more Exclusive ride requests. Meanwhile, Platinum and Diamond status drivers shall be earning five percent more on trip fares for more trip types.
This reimagined Uber Pro shall start rolling out in chosen California cities over the next few weeks. Terms and conditions apply.
Uber’s going extra for Aussies
Meanwhile, local and international tourists visiting Sydney Airport should brace themselves for something bigger and better.
The Australian airport has partnered with premium airport transfer booking service WeKnow to launch a premium taxi and Uber booking platform at the T1 International terminal, offering arrivals with a more streamlined and prepaid onward travel option.
Sydney Airport’s Mark Zaouk stated, “The introduction of WeKnow reflects Sydney Airport’s focus on improving the end-to-end passenger journey. Arriving passengers want simple, reliable choices when they land, and WeKnow brings a range of transport booking options together in one place.”
Through these reimagined services, passengers can pre-book and pre-pay for taxi and Uber journeys via multilingual digital kiosks located in the international baggage reclaim area or at two staffed WeKnow desks in the arrivals area. The Pacific country’s premium taxi labels are joining Uber.
Also, under this deal, taxi passengers get a printed ticket with a unique booking code and proceed to dedicated pickup bays by WeKnow at the T1 taxi rank, which bypasses peak lines. This structure provides the certainty that these parties need, since fares and booking fees are settled by the time the reservation is made.
Aside from this ground transport, this wil also let passengers book attractions, tours, and experiences across Sydney immediately upon arrival, supporting broader tourism efforts.
