ChatGPT is all over the world right now. It is an AI, or artificial intelligence, chatbot that’s more intelligent than Google. With ChatGPT, you can ask the chatbot to write a whole blog for you, suggest recipes, make travel itineraries, and even design professional graphics.
Workers in the corporate world also use ChatGPT, and you can do so right now. However, Uber is making the experience even better by introducing ChatGPT Work, an agent that helps these people take on several tasks within the ChatGPT enterprise.
“Uber is putting AI to work across its business, and bringing ChatGPT Work to tens of thousand employees is a big step toward expanding access to frontier AI capabilities and tools. Now teams across Uber can tap into our portfolio of frontier models and agents to take on more complex work, connect the tools they use every day, and get more done,” thank you to this statement from OpenAI.
As a normal use of ChatGPT, you can configure the system so you only need to head over to a particular tab when you need repetitive assistance, but this brand-new feature is exclusive to Uber employees, making it available to over 30,000 employees across the global workforce of the world’s number one ridesharing app.
ChatGPT Work caters across all Uber workers, designed to take on complex and multi-step tasks. It connects with tools that Uber uses on a daily basis, including Google Drive, GMail, Google Calendar, and even Slack, allowing employees to research information, prepare meeting briefs, create presentations, evaluate data, and complete workflows across apps.
This full-fledged division of ChatGPT also offers Uber access to OpenAI’s portfolio. OpenAI is the company behind ChatGPT. Technically, Uber’s workforce can benefit from chatbot models like PT‑6.1 Sol, supported by OpenAI multi-modal capabilities, including generating voices and images.
“Uber has always been a company of builders, and every day, millions of people around the world rely on what we create. As AI transforms how we work, we want to give everyone the tools to innovate, solve problems, and help shape Uber’s future. Rolling out ChatGPT Work across the company is an exciting step toward that ambition, and I can’t wait to see what our teams build with it,” stated Praveen Neppalli Naga, the chief technology officer of Uber.
This rollout is bound to get support from Uber’s internal AI skills library, approved integrations, and dedicated employee training, helping teams across functions, including operations, finance, marketing, and product make the technology work at its best. Meanwhile, the ridesharing app’s developers and software engineering teams will also continue using Codex to accelerate software development and streamline coding workflows.
