Item returns are stressful, but you cannot simply let the items you wish to return stay with you, unless you want to wear oversized or undersized clothing.
Uber is making these returns a bit easier by launching a feature that allows you to leave the item you intend to return on your doorstep as the Uber guy picks it up for you.
Returns are a boon, and not every eCommerce or delivery platform out there would have this feature.
For instance, there’s China-headquartered Lazada whose return policy is as tangled with your electric wires. Lazada’s return policy allows customers to return items within seven days for the regular marketplace sellers, and 15 days for LazMall items after delivery.
Also, the items must be as in proper condition as when you bought it, not defective, not incorrect, and not damaged. They must also be in their original packaging, unused, and with all the accessories intact. Plus, there are a few valid reasons for Lazada to accept these returns.
On top of those, Lazada won’t be there at your doorstep to pick up your returns! You will need to arrange the delivery via courier platforms. Yikes!
But not Uber. This newest Returns feature, accessible via the Uber Eats app, is Uber’s latest undertaking, offering services beyond its usual ridesharing and delivery businesses, as with Uber Eats.
However, there are limitations, such as paying a courier fee, calculated based on time and distance.
Right now, customers can only send back eligible retail items on Uber Eats. But maybe this feature shall expand soon.
Also, everything should still be compliant with the store’s return policy. Items from At Home, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, GNC, Michael’s Pet Food Express, Pacsun, Petco, and Target are eligible under this feature. But don’t worry, since more stores are coming in soon.
Also, even if you have an item from Petco, for instance, customers can only return items with retail amounts over $20.
To access the brand-new feature, navigate to your order history in the app, tap Return an Item, and select the item.
The process gets completed once you tap the Return With a Courier option. Beware of the instant refund, bypassing the chore of driving to a retailer, finding a parking spot, and standing in line.
