Uber Drivers In Mérida, Mexico – Rejoice

Are you a driver of Uber cars in beautiful Mérida in Mexico? If you are, celebrate. Uber has added new features that will make your driving experiences even more extraordinary.

Drive around Mérida with more safety

Uber may be headquartered in the United States, but its divisions around, such as in Latin America, won’t let its efforts be left behind.

In Mexico, in particular, specifically in Mérida, there two new features that Uber drivers there could soon enjoy. First are the Alert Zones.

This system makes use of a model reading multiple data sources. These Alert Zones features display warning icons next to pickup or point of destination locations flagged via driver reports, historical trip data, and public information. Such locations appear highlighted in color brown with a warning symbol on the driver’s version of the app. All for the driver’s and the passenger’s safety.

The second feature is the user seniority tags appearing on driver screens prior to them accepting ride requests.

Such seniority tags show passenger ratings together with the total completed trips on the Uber app.

Uber has tested those features and listened to select drivers’ feedback several months before they launched it recently. These features are designed to improve the driver experience without affecting the experiences of passengers.

Uber Mexico’s security communications manager, Cecilia Román, stated, “[Due to] consistent listening efforts, we know that drivers in Mérida value having more information and clarity about their trips.”

Bellevue expansion

Meanwhile, in other official Uber news for today, ridesharing media documents reveal that the company is considering a probably expansion in the Puget Sound area, as well as eyeing several Bellevue locations to be added on its maps.

It has been reported to the Ridesharing Forum team that the app has strong interest in various properties in the Bellevue Central Business District, such as City Center Plaza and Four106.

Right now, Uber leases spaces in the Second + Seneca building in downtown Seattle, where it has been in since 2019.
