Uber Closes Magnificently In Trading Tonight

Coming from an unpleasant stock performance generally last week, Uber started this week also quite unpleasantly, as it completed Monday’s trading 0.55 percent lower.

That day, Uber shares closed lower and lagged a tech-led market rebound amidst lawsuits on-going that day with London black cab drivers. Though Uber won this.

The world’s number one ridesharing app won the dismissal of an estimated over $334 million lawsuit brought on behalf of black cab drivers in London after a judge ruled the claim actually missed the filing deadline, not because the cab drivers are in the wrong.

The judge, Simon Birt, handed down the ruling earlier this week, finding out that by February 2018, over six years before the first claim was issued, the drivers actually had access to the public information they needed to push the case forward, the black cab drivers’ claims are time-barred, the judge pointed out, Ridesharingforum.com previously reported.

So, if Uber won the case that day, why did the stocks perform that way? Experts are eyeing the robotaxi competition, and shake-ups in the team, as confirmed by the human resources department.

On Tuesday, Uber stocks even slid and slipped lower, ending down at around 1.46 percent. Their shares closed even lower as investors weighed a legal win against lingering robotaxi and valuation worries, while market leadership rotated out of tech into healthcare and value. Thought it won the case against London black cab drivers big-time, it still is facing a tax, not taxi, dispute.

Next day, Wednesday, wasn’t also a proud moment for Uber as its shares closed even lower at 1.91 percent, trading at $68, extending a four-session losing streak.

The rest of the week is like watching the climax in this viral Street Fighter movie happening now. Thursday’s trading had Uber closing slightly higher at 2.14 percent, trading at $70, but as market closed Friday, it went down 3.43 percent, trading $67, but the after-hours is a must-witness. Guess what! The stocks rebounded to almost 0.30 percent up, so really, not bad at all, congratulations Uber!

Uber is a ridesharing app that is connecting passengers with drivers through its mobile application. Users enter their destination, select a ride option, and receive an estimated fare.
