UAE National Day Recap: How Careem Celebrated This Big Feast In The Emirates

Among the biggest celebrations in the United Arab Emirates, the National Day, has come to a close. National Day has been a festive affair that even the country’s most preferred apple, like Careem, celebrated. Here’s the story.

UAE National Day 2025

The United Arab Emirates National Day is celebrated on a yearly basis every December 2nd to commemorate the country’s unification.

Prior to the formation of the Emirates, they were part of the Trucial States, a British Protectorate established via truce treaties respectively in 1820, 1853, and 1896. In the late 1960s, the British government under Prime Minister Harold Wilson declared its intention to withdraw its forces east of the Suez, which included its forces in the Trucial States.

Eventually, the UAE declared independence the day after the expiry of the treaties on December 2nd, 1971. Hence, the National Day.

National Day is identified with several activities, with the most popular ones being fireworks, car rallies, and dance shows. This year, unique twists are added.

For instance, in the line of the workers in the country, their activities were held under the slogan, “Our Workers’ Happiness in Our Union’s Celebration,” marked by a diverse programme consisting of competitive and interactive activities – with prizes, such as cars, airline tickets, entertainment shows, folkloric performances, and gifts.

Even the country’s equestrians did not let itself be left behind. A total of 54 riders, representing diverse backgrounds, took part in the inaugural equestrian community ride organized by the Dubai Fitness Challenge last Sunday.

Careem also made sure it’s part of the action.

Careem in this year’s UAE National Day

Careem is Dubai’s super-app, which started as a ridesharing service and has expanded to offer a wide range of services, including food and grocery delivery, home services, and digital payments. It presently operates in more than 70 cities across the Middle East, Africa, and Pakistan.

Basically, the celebration of National Day with Careem is ordering home-grown food via Careem.

“The real heartbeat of the UAE dining scene lives in the kitchens that started right here at home. These are the spots that began with a family recipe or a clever idea and grew into institutions that we all know and love today,” Time Out Dubai stated.

Some of the participating eateries were Bait El Khetyar, which offers shawarma dishes, as well as Gazebo, offering rich curries. Or, for those who want the mandis or kabsas from Mandi Man or Maraheb Restaurant, they could find these from the Careem platform.

Otherwise, there are also offers from the famous Al Farah and Rain Café, featuring its delicious coffee. Plus, dining spots like Antonia champion UAE-born and -raised concepts. Everything is delivered right to your doorsteps. There’s no National Day 2025 feast in the United Arab Emirates without yummy food.

According to Dubai’s official tourism website, the Eid Al Etihad will be celebrated until December 3rd. For more food delivery news, sign up for your account on Ridesharing Forum.
