Toyota Partners Together With Uber To Lower Barriers For Accessing Electrified Vehicles In Europe

Great things are about to happen for ridesharing drivers in Europe as Uber has entered into a brand-new partnership with Toyota, designed to lower the barriers when these drivers access electrified vehicles on the continent. Here’s the scoop.

Toyota x Uber

Uber has partnered with Toyota Motor Europe to expand access to low- and zero-emission vehicles for Uber drivers and fleet partners in Europe, building on Toyota’s popularity amongst these people.

Toyota Motor Europe oversees the wholesale sales and marketing of Toyota, Lexus, and GAZOO Racing cars with parts and accessories, as well as Toyota’s European manufacturing and engineering operations.

Under this partnership and its design, Uber drivers and fleet partners across significant European countries, representing hundreds of thousands of active individual drivers and fleets, will get the support they need.

Reflecting differences in operating needs, costs, and charging infrastructure across the continent, this team-up is built around Toyota’s multi-pathway approach, offering drivers an option between hybrid, battery-electric, and approved used Toyota and Lexus cars as entry points into electrified mobility.

“Professional drivers need electrified vehicles that work for them economically as well as operationally. Through this partnership with Uber, we are improving access to vehicles, financing, and mobility services that drivers can use immediately, while supporting the gradual shift towards lower‑emission fleets across European cities. This reflects Toyota’s belief that the transition to lower-emission mobility should be inclusive and accessible to all,” stated Leonardo Carluccio, deputy for sales of Toyota Motor Europe.

In 10 European countries

This partnership will be seen coming into fruition in July in 10 European countries, with a planned expansion to the rest of Europe.

It brings together four entities of Toyota to offer drivers a single, integrated mobility proposition covering new and used cars, financing, leasing, and insurance. These include:

  • Toyota Motor Europe
  • Toyota Financial Services
  • Toyota Insurance Services
  • KINTO Europe

KINTO Europe is a Japanese tableware and lifestyle brand.

“Partnering with Toyota allows us to offer an integrated solution that addresses vehicle ownership, financing, and maintenance. By lowering ownership obstacles, we are accelerating electrification while supporting drivers’ livelihoods in a changing world,” Uber stated.

Toyota is a Japanese multi-national car company, believing that when people are free to move, anything is possible. In the pursuit of “Mobility for All,” they aim to create a safer, more connected, and inclusive and sustainable mobility. For more ridesharing news, keep following Ridesharingforum.com!
