A multi-year partnership? What more could you ask for?
In case you are not informed yet, restaurant technology platform Toast has just signed a multi-year agreement with the world’s number one ridesharing app to develop tools in order to help restaurants manage digital ordering and increase sales.
Restaurants have almost perfected brick-and-mortar ordering, but since today that the world lives in the digital age, the challenges persist in online ordering. You’ve heard of horrible stories of customers being asked to pay for what they didn’t order, simply because they misused the QR code placed on top of the restaurant table.
This time, the world is changing.
Toast is actually your single-stop, cloud-based restaurant technology platform integrating as a point-of-sale or POS system with various management tools for operations, online ordering, and customer loyalty programs. Toast is designed to help restaurants streamline operations, increase sales, and improve the guest experience through software and hardware solutions.
The fruits of the partnership will start in the USA and Canada, with the agreement seeing the integration of Toast’s systems with Uber’s delivery and technology network.
Apart from these, the two companies are also reportedly looking at introducing features to help restaurants attract and retain diners or customers, covering offers and advertising integrations.
Toast and Uber will also:
- Collaborate on bundled offers to expand their shared customer base.
- Offer integrated tools and flexibility for various ordering channels, with the goal of driving more revenue at a lower cost.
- Roll out existing integrations for Uber Eats, Uber Direct, and Toast Delivery Services in Canada, as well as integrations with Uber Eats’ divisions in Ireland and Great Britain.
Sounds exciting, isn’t it? But wait, there’s more. Toast is also about to designed Uber as the preferred food delivery marketplace for restaurants runnin on Toast not just in the USA, rather across the globe.
“Toast has built one of the most trusted platforms in restaurant technology, and together we’re making it easier for restaurants to grow on their own terms,” Susan Anderson of Uber Delivery noted. “By pairing Toast’s powerful point-of-sale and operations tools with Uber’s delivery expertise and global scale, we’re helping merchants unlock new revenue with less complexity – and giving diners more ways to discover and enjoy the restaurants they love.”
Plus, beginning this 2026, merchants using Toast will be able to create, roll out, and manage promotions and local advertising on Uber Eats directly via the restaurant tech platform. The goal is to generate more demand for the Uber marketplace.
The CEO of Toast, Aman Narang, stated: “Toast’s partnership with Uber is focused on jointly creating a more seamless, integrated experience that gives restaurants more control and flexibility to increase revenue, streamline operations, and attract new diners. Together, we are empowering the restaurant community with better technology, more choice and less friction in support of our mission to help restaurants delight guests, do what they love, and thrive.”
This isn’t the first time Uber and Toast are collaborating. They’ve been working together since 2021 for the administration of orders via the Uber Eats app.
