TikToker Mom’s Viral Video Sparks Discussion On How Customers ‘Connive’ With DoorDash

How far, and how creative can you go when you want your cravings delivered to you, but you don’t want your mom to find out? Well, for this 12-year-old, he would instruct the delivery person to sneak his food cravings in the wee hours of the night into his bedroom window.

His mom, apparently, has found out about this sneaky move and posted her findings on TikTok. Her video, which already has almost a whopping 800,000 views as of press time, has sparked discussions from the TikTok community, saying she should not take her son’s actions too seriously because even they have their own conniving stories with food delivery platforms like DoorDash.

Well, the mom, Claudia Mercer, shared how she has already learned her son has been sneaking DoorDash food through his bedroom window. This realization came after she reviewed their house’s CCTV footage and saw a car pull into their driveway with a man carrying a bag cut through the grass to get her child the food he was requesting.

DoorDash stories

One TikTok commenter commented they’re guilty of doing almost the same. They stated how pizzas got to them via a basket hanging from their second-story window. The cash and tip were also in it to be sent to the delivery staff.

Not only are the comments coming from customers, but drivers as well. However, they needed to make sure they wouldn’t be sacked for participating in TikTok conversations.

One driver said he had a kid who requested they deliver the food through his window because he did not want to eat what his mom prepared for dinner.

Another DoorDash driver stated he once saw a kid jump out of a window to grab his food, after following the instructions, “Turn off lights and do not get out of the car. Call when you get close.”

After all, kids or adults, they still provide earnings for those drivers.

"I had a kid tell me how to avoid the camera and wait until his mom left. I felt like a private detective ninja,” another DoorDash driver commented.

But the best is yet to come. Another driver commented how they had a kid make them pretend to be his aunt and drop off his food at school. Creepy.

Then, there were also comments that requested for the milkshake to be hidden because the customer didn’t want to share it with others in the house, and asking for the food to be delivered behind the bushes.

Probable loophole

Some customers just love to get creative. Not only on DoorDash, but on other food delivery platforms, too, where there is an empty box space provided should you have specific instructions for the driver.

Actually, that box is provided if the customer needs extra utensils or sauces, but some people prefer to get creative with the instructions, especially if they are spending their next day’s allowance from their parents for the food tonight, and they do not want their mom or dad to know.
