Looking to witness the US Senior Open this year? Here’s a commuting guide for you.’
Free parking
“I don’t need a Lyft ride, ‘coz I got a car!’ says one spectator, and that’s okay.
For those bringing their own cars to the US Senior Open this year, complimentary parking and shuttle transportation will be provided to and from the venue, the Scioto Country Club.
The complimentary parking will be provided at Ohio State University, particularly in the Buckeye Lots situated near the Covelli Center along 2701 Fred Taylor Drive. The Ohio State University Buckeye Lots are located just northeast of Scioto Country Club.
Car owners are requested to follow general parking signage and directions from parking attendants to the designated parking location.
Also, remember that the physical address of 2701 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus, Ohio, 43210 can be used on most GPS systems.
Plus, from the parking lot, complimentary shuttle transportation shall be provided to and from Scioto Country Club, and is expected to take around 20 minutes.
Lyft, Uber rides
If you don’t have a car, don’t worry because using a ridesharing service will not be less convenient. However, there are rules to take note of.
Ridesharing services, passenger, taxi, or limousine drop-offs and pick-ups are only allowed at designated areas located around the Ohio State’s Buckeye Lots. Spectators coming in through ridesharing will need to board a complimentary shuttle bus for transportation to Scioto Country Club.
Those taking ridesharing must still follow directional signs and parking attendants towards the appropriate pick-up and drop-off location. Also, note that because of traffic restrictions, access is limited, and vehicles with 12-passenger capacities will not be allowed, nor will limousines be, so don’t feel like you’re a VIP here.
Likewise, ridesharing cars are not permitted to pick up or drop off anywhere around the Championship grounds. Parking will run on permits and parking passes.
Parking shuttles
This sporting event organizers will provide complimentary lift-equipped shuttle transportation to and from all the parking lots in the venue.
In addition, the Disability Services Committee will be on the ground to assist spectators with disabilities with multi-person golf cart transport to and from the designated stops and accessible areas and facility locations throughout the championship grounds.
Let’s all cooperate for the success of the golf event. The USGA championship will happen between July 2nd and July 5th at Scioto Country Club. See you there!
