This ‘DoorDash Grandma’ Who Showed Up On The White House’s Neighborhood Is More Controversial Than You Imagine

Think of it this way: a DoorDash food delivery staff appears in your doorstep, but you find out staff has hidden agenda.

Are the global ridesharing and delivery consumers remembering that DoorDash mom who delivered McDonald’s to the current USA president, the money in the White House himself, Donald Trump, and received a whopping amount of tip from him?

For many then, it was a DoorDash advertising and promotion stunt. It could be, since the images online and on social are clear, but what if people and the teams that are working inside the White House are just plain, well, simply hungry?

But then, the theory that it was a publicity stunt could be proven real this time, since she has been seen – yes, the same person – with the Republicans in previous scenarios.

If you recall, the grandmother, Sharon Simmons, was asked by President Trump if she supported him during his campaign and to his win, and she subtly answered, “Maybe.”

Curious individuals, as curious as cats, uncovered information about the woman, who hails from Arkansas, and they found out she’s working like a real mom and the mom of your mom for the Republicans, like how she would work for her family. Oops. Oops, again.

Was she an action figure of the Republicans?

She isn’t only a firm Trump supporter, but she also heavily supports the One Big Beautiful Bill several months ago, on taxes. What’s wrong with that, you know?

In July 2025, she spoke during a Ways and Means Committee hearing in Nevada, saying this bill would let her "stay more connected with her family,” telling the Congress it would “help her in her future.”

Then, there’s your Republican Representative David Kustoff from Tennessee, who commented on this unwavering support from the “DoorDash food delivery woman,” saying, "Her story is just one of thousands across America who are finding financial breathing room thanks to @HouseGOP.”

Touching, but some Americans are raising their eyebrows.

Now, The Guardian did its own investigation into the allegations, finding out she is also a, get this, lobbyist! That’s right. She once lobbied for “no tax on tips” policy, a thing the grandmom stated during her landmark meeting with the USA leader, as previously reported in ridesharing media outlets. Like for real, for real? Ask your sister.

DoorDash released their statement on the matter.

“No one is claiming it was a real delivery,” Julian Crowley, from DoorDash’s public affairs division, chatted with Ridesharing Forum. “It was clearly and obviously a planned event to mark a newest policy starting to claim Sharon is a prop, plant, or an actor is totally wrong and off base. She is a Dasher, and she participated to support the policy that benefits her.”

She is a DoorDash Dasher, for paradise’s sake, y’all! For more ridesharing insights, keep it locked right here on Ridesharing Forum!
