They may have left Grubhub’s executive board, but they have found their next act.
Executives who formerly worked at Grubhub left the company for the oddest of reasons, but they have jolted back. They created an app that assists drivers with issues with flat tires and stalled engines.
According to TyreSafe, around 90 people were killed or seriously injured in collisions because of defective tires in 2023, up by 29 percent in 2022. Yikes!
Yes, so these former Grubhub executives are only making the right move. From working for food, to working for tires.
With the app and company Curbside SOS, they are looking at challenging roadside assistance giant AAA with a system and a platform connecting drivers to tow trucks and other roadside help.
According to the official website of Curbside SOS, they are a reliable roadside assistance that offers their services in the fastest and the most convenient ways possible. You can get quotes in less than three minutes, and no membership is required.
Aside from flat tires, they also help when engines won’t start, you get locked out, you run out of gas, and for basic tows, and so much more.
Furthermore, it also lets users see prices in advance, track providers, and make payments. Sounds really nice.
So far, so nice. Customers are saying that partnering with Curbside SOS is the best decision they ever made.
“When I tell you these guys were all some!! I couldn’t ask for a better service and dedication to get the job fix!! They even went the extra mile to make sure I was okay until my partner arrived because I was afraid of driving my spare!! Choosing them was the best decision I could have made during an emergency!!” a customer told Ridesharing Forum.
The executives bought Curbside SOS last month, which then forms Honk Technologies, a firm controlled by private-equity investor Frontenac.
Honk Technologies is an AI-driven, digital roadside assistance platform that connects drivers in need of towing or roadside services with a network of service providers. It offers a faster, modern alternative to traditional, phone-based clubs like AAA by using apps to increase transparency and reduce service wait times for drivers and businesses.
Meanwhile, Frontenac is a Chicago-based private equity firm that’s investing in leaders and middle-market companies for more than 50 years. Their approach is executive-led partnerships with experienced business leaders. This is why they’re the perfect fit for this fresh business dealing of the Grubhub executive.
Curbside SOS and Honk Technologies will keep operating to be separate brands. Also perfect, since the former serves individual drivers, while Honk caters to businesses, such as fleet managers or insurance companies.
The management of Curbside SOS will run the merged company, which Frontenac holds a majority stake in.
Honk Technologies aims to take on AAA. AAA was founded in 1902 as a non-profit coalition of the so-called motor clubs across the country. It has over 60 million members in the United States.
Last year, the Curbside and Honk Technologies collaboration completed over a million jobs. For more ridesharing updates, keep it locked on Ridesharing Forum!
