Admit it or not, Uber has its own ups and downs. Sure, it is the world’s number one ridesharing app, but Uber also receives complaints here and there.
According to passengers chatting with Ridesharingforum.com, the most common Uber issues include canceled rides, unexpected surge pricing, and driver-rider miscommunication. But, aren’t these part of the routine? Some drivers would gamble giving up the ride even if they’d earn from it, maybe due to traffic, among others.
Other issues include difficulty reaching customer service, inaccurate GPS routing, and technical glitches within the app. On the part of drivers, they complain these struggles with passenger no-shows, false damage claims, and low earnings after platform fees. Yes, the passenger cancellations and no-shows are really stressful.
Interestingly enough, Lyft is aware of such things, which is why the CEO of Lyft, David Risher, recently stated, “We’re the good Uber!”
Do you agree? In other words, he is saying that Lyft can resolve those common problems either party encounter with Uber, insisting that Lyft has lower prices, and those similar things.
Risher spoke with the technology website WIRED, and the publication found that three years ago, “Lyft was floundering,” and so they hired Risher in hopes that he would turn things around.
“The new CEO has expanded its service in other countries, made deals with Waymo and Nvidia, lowered ride cancellations, and paid drivers more,” WIRED pointed out.
Plus, this week, Lyft announced that passengers in the Big Apple would be able to see taxis, as previously reported in here on RSF.
Do these make Lyft “the good Uber”? If you don’t think they’re the good guys, share your insights as you open your account here on RSF. Or, if you think you can second that motion.
Things that Uber can say? What can Uber say? So far, there are no reactions coming from Uber regarding this matter, except for the fact that they are aware of these complaints from passengers and drivers.
“The Uber app is designed to be as simple and user-friendly as possible, but we understand that you might still run into problems from time-to-time. Sometimes this might be caused by a technical failure, but often it can be a misunderstanding,” Uber noted on its official website page, “Solving common problems: here’s how we can help you.” “These are four of the most common Uber problems, but as you can see, they are all easily preventable.”
